My first BMW was a 2009 128i, loved it ran like a clock no problems, got hit while stopped at a traffic light, totaled it. I bought a 2012 BMW 128i White/Blk top convertible about a year ago, I love this car it has 59K on it, and runs like a clock. I live it Florida now so I don't have to deal with the snow and ice. I'm originally from NJ also, I don't miss it at all, lol. FYI, I put a can of Sea Foam in the gasoline tank every time I fill up and I can honestly say, there is a major difference in performance, it runs quieter and smoother. You should try it if you still have the car, or any car you have, you will see a difference.

My father used to own an E36 325i Sedan and loved every part of it but always wished it was lighter. This 128i is the epitome of what I wished it was like. If I were in your shoes I'd go on to make it a light as possible without ruining the daily utility of the car. A carbon fibre bonnet, boot and roof would be at the top of my list.

Did the changes you make to the brakes give the pedal a nice firm feel to it? I like when you have to push decently hard on the pedal to get some good bite? I hate normal or luxury cars that have a soft pedal that bites right away and hard with little foot pressure applied. I like a sports car like a Miata or 911 (I've owned and tracked both) that has that firm pedal that makes aggressive braking and heal/toeing lots of fun. I have a '08 128 and 08' M3 and both have a slightly softer pedal than what I would prefer, nothing as soft though as my daily Subaru or my wife's X5.

Great subjective input. I just bought a fully loaded 128i 2012 m sport manual and take delivery of it next month. It was the hardest car to find that I’ve ever pursued, rarer than my 325xi manual wagon w the sport package and leather; and that’s rare! Do you think they’ll hold their value well compared to e92 m3’s and 135i’s?
@pksangavaram6 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Reed I don’t think they will ever hold their value as they will slip through the cracks like the e46 330i zhp. They are an enthusiast special. I just hope that all the good ones won’t be destroyed by the modern day hipsters

Looking at a 2011 with 43k miles.What types of repairs have you had to do?
@hansschweikert91536 жыл бұрын
@Zombie Head So we bought the 2011 128i with 47k miles. Car has all records from day one and essentially feels and looks like a new car. Previous elderly owner installed a Euro air box, M sport muffler, short shift kit, and M suspension bushings. All BMW parts. My only nits to pick at this time are 1) white noise coming from radio, even when it's turned off, addressed in a Service Bulletin, will be replaced with a Joying unit, 2) the rear window defrost does not work, anyone know where that relay lives? and 3) I hate run flat tires! Car came with a second set of rims, mounted with Blizzak runflats. Took off the summer only non-runflat tires and swapped on the Blizzaks and the ride deteriorated drastically. Major major down grade. Can't wait to swap them back out in April! Now about that rear window defroster...
