I have a 318i 2009 hardtop coupe purchased in 2017 ,had a service history which indicated wheel alignment problems ,its since had 3 more alignments ,new water pump in 2018 $1300 for genuine part and another water pump in 2022 ,another $1300 , for the part ,the starter motor was replaced in 2021 ,$1500 , now I'm having trouble with te water cooling system as the plastic components are or seem to be disolving despite putting the recomended coolant in the system ,the filler cap had bits breaking away and now the fitting on the front of the engine that goes back to the waterpump has disolwed and needs replacing ,what is a simple job is complicated by the fact that you have to access that area and thats where we're at now ,I have had far too much trouble with this vehicle and wouldn't recomend anyone buy a BMW thats more than 8 years old as you will never keep it on the road because of component failures , Yours sincerely Jeff Brice .

0:36 'it makes less power than many small cars' but it is a small car. Not subcompact, but definitely not mid-size either.

7-8-9 litres per 100. Which one is it? Big difference there! I've recently sold a FG G6E that averaged 6.8 on the highway and 9.0 around town over the 5 years I owned it. I'd hope a 3 cylinder 1.5 litre that's 7 years newer, Euro, with half the kw's and half the torque would do better than those figures!! Especially the 9's!!

I was thinking about the same thing. Many youtubers has been doing extremely accurate test drive and providing accurate figures themselves

318i - the weakest engine BMW offers on 3-series... is still very good. That's the whole point of 318 - cheap to buy and service.
@Teun_NL_Urbex5 жыл бұрын
not the weakest engine there is an 316i aswell
@mattbod4 жыл бұрын
Sounds better than the 4 almost like a 6cyl.

Okay, first of all BMW isn't trying to make this 318i the same the old one.The old 318i was made for lower end BMW buyers but it was still catering for everyone and is pretty much the 320i of today (which is still one of the best-selling 3 series in Australia behind the 330i). This new 318i is obviously catering for the ignorant badge-snob crowd - a car made for those ditzy housewives with rich husbands/retiring old ladies that dont know better. If you want a real 3 series, get a 320i onwards. You miss out on all the nice options that come standard with the 320i (electric seats, adapative M suspension, Sports transmission, Lights Package etc) and its night and day vs the 318i in terms of performance and handling. You're better off buying a 1 or 2 series if you cant afford a real 3 series. Most people who have the spending bracket of a 318i would simply buy a premium selection 320i which would lay around the same price, if not cheaper.

Weak, I'll stick with my 335. Bmw should be focused on making even more powerful cars. I dont care how much mpg it gets, gas is so cheap right now it hardly matters.
@jameslovett86978 жыл бұрын
+LegendInThaMakin yea a 1.8 is too slow.
@AristotelisMitsiou8 жыл бұрын
+LegendInThaMakin I disagree, because when we will be concerned about using others sources of fuels, and that's not far away, those cars would be worthless. It's nice to have some, but it's nice to take care of the environment and to use other, cleaner fuels.

Well i think u need to leave BMW and switch to Mercedes there a lot better and for that price u can find something with way more power and more luxury
@zanthony12866 жыл бұрын
nah, the 335i have to rev its guts whereas the 118i (same engine) feels quite fast especially on premium gas

What a boring car. Nothing about it screams fun. Whoever buys this shouldnt own a bmw. Rather catch the bus
