What if I don’t have the tab is it ok to have own open and the other one using the tube ?

Good instructional video, but one error. The battery hold down plate installed at 9:49 was installed upside-down. There are grooves that fit into the crossbar that makes it sit flush. Other than that enjoy the E46!

I wanted to add an addendum, if you will, to a previous question. As far as registering the battery, I was told that any 2002 BMW and after must be registered, is that just a deterrent?
@ErolEskinazi3 жыл бұрын
Hi. No registration necessary for these. Just plug in and play exactly how you see in the video. I changed batteries twice in this E46 the same way.

What happens if the vents are not installed
@ErolEskinazi4 жыл бұрын
•• your battery will vent regardless. In enclosed spaces such as the trunk, it is advised that you connect the vent tube so that the gases go outside rather than concentrate in enclosed areas such as the trunk. That is the reason why you only see those vent tubes in vehicles where the battery location is the trunk or under the passenger footwell etc... but not when the battery is located on the engine bay where there is always plenty of air coming in and you don’t have the possibility of a person being there. I hope that helps.

is it true that you have to reset your bmw car computer once you get a new battery??..I was told to do so if I got a new battery....but want the new battery reset the computer anyway?? need help
@ErolEskinazi4 жыл бұрын
Sey registering the battery is not an issue on older BMWs, only on the newer ones. For the E46, definitely yet not. This is 4th battery in this car. Always did it the way you see in the video.
