BMW 325i E90 - Rear Seat Removal

Removing the rear seat in an E90 BMW is pretty easy once you know how. The trick is that there are 2 release latches inside the trunk that hold the backrest in. Ill show you how to get your seat out in this video. That way you can move forward on whatever project your working on that requires you to remove the seat.

There is no plastic clips to remove the rear seat in a BMW 325i E90. It is not the same for every model of car.

I too had trouble and thought I needed to push the white plastic clips. In reality, I needed to push the steel part “outwards” on each latch, while putting light pressure on the seats to release the seatback. DON’T push/pry on the white plastic! I was in a pinch so I just ended up removing the 4x 13mm bolts for the latches. That was easier

Hi Friends. I have a 320i E90 and my problem is that the trunk is not opening. Last alternative is to get access in the trunk by removing the rear seats (suspect wiring faulty). My question is that how to remove the rear seats in a situation whereby i cannot get access to the 2 latches found inside the trunk (as mentioned in the video)?

For anyone else attempting this, these 2 torx bolts were super tight. I had to use my ~200ft-lb Milwaukee impact. I suppose a breaker bar would also work. I ended up just undoing the 4x 13mm bolts for the latches instead of fiddling with the little access holes to unlock the latch

I cant remember if there is a hole under the speaker or not on the E90. But I would try to remove the speaker and see if there is a hole you can reach your amy inside to reach the seat locks.

For anyone else messing with a locked trunk, some e90’s like my 2006 330i have a trunk key hole where you can remove your secret blade key from the key fob and use it to unlock. On my 128i coupe, there isn’t a trunk key hole. In that case, I had to access the fuse box and put 12V to one of the fuses to pop the trunk lid. I can’t remember which one but it was posted in one of the bmw forum threads

My backseat is missing a screw at the top (attachment part under the headrest) that metal thing that the seat attaches to is lose and i dont know what screw it needs to stay in place??
