Anybody knows what is the back seat frame and that rod made of? Aliminum alloy, or iron? The wider part (40/60) is so heavy. I think the frame is made of sheet iron, however the rod looks aliminum. Do you think both folding and unfolding seats are same weight? I didn't weigh them but I think I felt the folding back seat with side bolsters are heavier the unfolding back seat in total.

did you also had on the top rear closing a litle opening.. the non rucksitze close complete to the back..

No I didn't had. You might have to move the lock in a position that will hold the backsit flush with the car

Thanks so much for the E39 tutorial on turbocharging . It is very helpfull . Im planning to do the same thing on my 520i E39 touring It's an M54B22 engine with 150k miles. i hope it can handle it. im £300 away from affording the turbo kit :)

Im about to do this too. LOL can't put anyting in the trunk (boot) of the E90. I keep getting scratches and holes in my back seat because I put stuff in there instead of the trunk!!

I searched as well a few months and I couldn't find any with leder beige as my interior and I bought this cloth one. You have to search on Ebay, junkyards or just Google it

Can i just confirm you kept original base part of your seat and only changed upper half? Or did you swap complete rear seats base and folding back too?

Nope, nothing is the same. You have to change everything. On the new system you will have new back seat, new seat and 2 side bolsters

Oh my God, I love those fabric rear seats. Rather have those fabric seats than fake leathers, so-called "LEATHERETTE", vinyl rubber seat, sucks SH!T in summer, stem cooking my balls... Great video, very informative as many other videos didn't really mention the two Torx bolts in the middle section.

I bought it from internet. Private sale. Just Google it and I'm sure you will find something. Or try junkyards. I wanted leder but I couldn't find any in beige so I bought this one but I might say it's a huge difference. I like it a lot! This is a must!
