Mines a bone stock 2011 335d, Lemans Blue with beige M sport....49k km. Bought new in 03/11. No issues other than intermittent CEL when I’ve installed Race Chip which I’m not presently using. Maybe going to do EGR, swirl flap delete in the future but it’s a toy not a daily or grocery getter so I’m holding off mods until the car needs more than routine maintenance

These cars tear up the engine mounts pretty easy with all their torque. A simple JBD set at 85-90 will get you about 300 HP with around 485 lb. torque and 0-60 in about 5.0 sec. and a top speed of around 155.....all while still getting around 35 MPG on the freeway.

Coming from a 96 passatTDI, diesel dasher, diesel Audi 5000 and a 74 diesel rabbit owner, I am impressed with my 2016 BMW 328d that I purchased in February with 64,000 miles. Since I drive from San Antonio to Austin, Texas every day, I now have 94,000 miles on the vehicle. I can attest that this is a fantastic daily driver. After the first round of maintenance, which was neglected and cost me $1500, I’ve had minimal problems aside from having to change the rear tires due to the torque. If you can get one of these vehicles that has been maintained, I would buy one. In fact, I’m looking for a five series that has a six cylinder motor.

Nice, My 2010 Sport white over saddle has 155k miles and is just now going through the delete process. Many many oil leaks, and the DEF system definitely straw that broke its back. Owned since new and with this delete, probably spent $10,000 in maintenance and repairs over the past 12 years. Great cars, can not find anything that feels as good, is as economical (got 741 miles on one tank - highway only) is as power full or looks as good as an E90 d. My personal opinion.

love the base models.. no sport suspension, softer springs ( combined with Bilstein HD's is a perfect combo.. not too harsh not too soft ) Simple 225/45/17 tires all around which are cheap and plentiful to replace and they are able to be rotated so they last longer. No goofy center screen which is horribly outdated and no annoying as fuck idrive. Straight forward dash which is reminiscent of older BMW's.. Most people are obscessed with having all the options without really focusing on the functionality of them. I live in CA.. no need for heated seats or steering wheel. Navigation on these is wy outdated and with google maps who needs it? Sport seats ARE nice but kill your ass/hips if you are anything other than a waif. The only options I want is fold down rear seat and the harmon kardon system. I dont want a sunroof, or xenon adjustable headlights because they just break. In fact just about every option on these cars does break and is $$$$$ expensive to fix. The beauty of this car is the engine. True diesel fans understand this
@christopherdobbins51233 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that insight. I have been thinking the few thinks I want from the sport are just options I can add. The upgraded suspension is not even worth mentioning since it is old and needs updating. I was thinking the paddle shifters are important. But honestly how hard is it to reach down and shift? Those wheels are fly but that is no biggy to swap. I am more interested in a sleeper anyway. I want to get the most hp I can while still being about to have I client (realtor) in the car and them not know it is tuned. Ps I have other vehicles to ride to take cleints in but it will probably happen.

The Nav from iDrive 2 lci model is a good map. Center Screen and parking radar is very helpful. The Xenons with upgraded lamps are fantastic. Sunroof is nice to have. With a stage 1 remap and full emmision delete the car is fast and fuel efficient.

Wrong on the turbos. They are not compounds. They are twin turbos with bypass valves. Our turbos have 4 stages: Stage 1: big turbo feeds the small turbo Stage 2: small turbo gets bypasses via bypass valve on exhaust side Stage 3: small turbo gets bypassed on the intake side Stage 4: only big turbo building boost.

Got mine for 8k just put some sexy chrome rims on them bro & straight pipe it & if you want get the pistons bigger & the crank, idk if you can get a better alternator but try to if you want to so you can put some speakers in there if you want with some subs, overall car is easy to do stuff with compared to other bmw cars you’ll be having a nice experience with it if you just manage it right, overall though the only problems I’ve ever had was suspension rework & tuning because the car came with the egr delete but not tuned out or straight piped which I wouldn’t blame them for not straight piping it, the car is harder to straight pipe due to it being so close to the engine you would have to take other parts off to reach it, also change the steering wheel with a m5 carbon fiber one, & get two set of different rims one big one like 19”inch & the other one 17-15”inch the car barely has any space for big rims you’re gonna need more tire when you race or do anything crazy with it you don’t want some heavy rims make your wheels spin out overall do the things you have to do to it for a v6 Diesel engine it’s pretty fast & it’s honestly easier to take care of compared to other bmw cars
