I think a lot of people overlook going from the top for things. I did the mickey mouse flange and the hose. WAY easier to replace that entire part with the intake and the turbo ducts removed from the top. Great video, thanks for the upload!

Cool video, but you should mention that the only way you're doing this job without removing the water pump is because you left the 3rd bolt off your water pump from a previous job. Everyone else with that third bolt will remove the water pump since you have to disconnect coolant lines to access that bolt.

Thanks. The third water pump bolt is tricky to get to, but very possible using swivel sockets and extensions. There is plenty of guides on the water pump, so I didn’t bother to include it in here.

Not possible since you cannot reach the bottom two bolts from the top, let alone remove and replace the BOV. It's impossible to see what you are doing from the top. Easiest way is to remove the waterpump: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXbYlo1to5t9gbM

The turbo is the same but the inlet design and taking apart the intake might be different. I would remove the water pump if you get stuck at any point.

Yea, the F30 is the same besides the intake location. Kies motorsports has a good DIY guide on the F30. I would still try to get at the top bolt from above while removing the inlet and intake.

Will my car be able to run properly with the BOV installed since MED17 is a MAF and load based ECU, BOV won't confuse it by letting the MAF-calculated air out of the intake system?

Yes, no issues at all. The MAF only has issues when there is a leak or aftermarket intake sometimes. The car actually runs better than ever with the BOV since the stock DV leaks past 20 psi.

Your e9x N55 engine should look like mine. If not, it may have an upgraded turbo or even a swapped engine LOL.

If you have an N54, it is a lot easier to swap the BOV since its on the charge pipe and not on the turbo itself.
