The E92 BMW 335i with the N55 engine already sounds better than an N54 exhaust, but you can make it even more enticing by installing a dual port blow off valve (BOV) by Turbosmart. I put a BMS intake on my N55 with stock diverter valve and it makes all kinds of glorious turbo noises! Even driving normal you hear spool up and blow offs all day. Even better when you get on it and a tune really wakes it up. Probably loses some power because it eliminates the factory cold air setup but it’s so worth it. Lol.

Agreed! I had the BMS intake on my old e93 N55 and it sounded so good, especially the turbo spool noise. I had a Pure Stage 2 upgrade so it was LOUD.

Damn, my BMS intake makes zero extra whooshing at all... both with the stock DV and a GFB DV - any idea why? The cone sits a little oddly on the tube but it seems to be sealed properly with the clamp still

I put in a GFB DV+ on my N55 w/ stage 3 turbos and because it opens progressively rather than all open or all close, boost control is much better - BUT it's basically silent compared to stock haha. Tthe stock one actually was quite audible, but I was hoping for more dammit! It doesn't flutter each, which is technically good, as that is a result of compressor surge and is fairly common for BOV and DV aftermarket upgrades though not a big deal and sounds fun.

Yea that is weird because BMS usually has some kind of whoosh sound after letting off. The Turbosmart BOV takes it to another level. I guess the DV+ does too good of a job at recirculating the boost 😆

Anytime! That could be the culprit. Other common leaks are the charge pipe and intercooler piping.

If the rim inside is cracked it can leak air too! you need to weld the cracked rim inside and it will be all good to go!

If the inside edge of the rim is folded slightly in one spot it may only leak air when it's parked on that part of the rim

Check the air valve, there’s suppose to be a rubber seal that’s visible with the tire off. I’f that seal is broken or wasn’t placed back properly then air will leak through there. Had that happen to me.

Hi! I live in Fremont, CA. I would recommend Pure Stage 2 because it looks OEM so easy to pass smog. But if that’s not a problem for you, try a top mount turbo for fun power 💪

Does it matter which way the BOV goes in? Mine is tilted around 7 o clock (the turbo smart logo is at the bottom but it’s also upside down). I turned my car on (after bleeding the coolant system) I didn’t hear any woozy noises at all.

It’s different, I have owned both. The BOV sounds more authentic and almost like a surround sound stereo system. The intake does sound great paired with a BOV since you get the complete turbo noise setup with spool and whoosh noise. 👍

Did you have a year later after you placed it any problems ? My guy from chiptuning said to better no do because this one blows in atmosfeer and the original blows in the engine back so you get diffrent engine values the recommend me not to do but . Am really doubting to put it

And the distribution chain , chain gider and chain poelies . So had a lot Costs and think gonne wait better whit stage 1 and catless downpipe maybe. It’s the 335i e92 xdrive . I work full time so I do this on the side. Turbo install takes a quite a while but I charged a recent person only $600 for the full turbo install. Port injection is $150 and VRSF exhaust is $100. Good luck 👍
