Sweet video! Was just having this issue and helped fix it, also check your brake rotors, the slots should face forward.

So is there one or 2 ground straps ? I got a 06 325i out of no where it stopped turning on all lights go on but no crank starter was replaced bout 8+ months ago, I replaced the ignition fuse, a few 5 amp fues and a big black relay and it tuned on, I parked it at night morning came and it didn’t turn on again break paddle is hard again and only light come on no nth else, I can see a similar ground wire on top on the engine and it looks pretty new but is there one on the bottom as where ? I’m thinking it’s my key or a battery sensor or fuel pump relay, maybe start could’ve gone bad although fairly new ?

Did it go from a super slow crank to a no crank at all? Also throwing codes for this? I got a bunch of codes and I’m thinking this could be it?
@straightsixracing4 жыл бұрын
Yep. I got slow crank, then no crank at all, started throwing a bunch of weird codes when I bump started it.

@@straightsixracing Just grounded my block to the chassis with a jumper cable fired up after I charged the battery magically! Glad I didn’t go chasing ghost. Thanks again for your help.

My mechanic replaced my grounding cable 2 weeks ago. One week later when I was driving on the Parkway as soon as I approach around 68-70 MPH the car gets a weird loud vibration like some plastic or rubber panel in vibrating really rapidly from I guess the wind under the hood from reaching that speed. The flapping loud vibration type noise is coming from under the hood on the driver's side of the car. Is there a panel (from replacing the grounding cable) that they may not have tighten up properly when they did the grounding cable replacement... This is such a weird vibration type noise. The car, by the way, even with the noise drives smooth and perfectly normal, just has this really loud vibration type noise. *When I slow the speed to under about 68MPH the noise goes away....only above that speed it is present. Thanks... Phil NYC Area

Yes there is a plastic type of material undertray that will sound like that if not tightened down properly.

There are 2 long panels on each side under the car

@@straightsixracing Update...I did look under the car myself. The plastic panel under the drivers side (near the rear part of the wheel well) has a pretty big chunk torn away (jagged looking like torn off). Either they didn't tighten the panel or it is a pretty big coincidence. The 6 inch hole from the missing section doesn't bother me too much except there's also a piece of the plastic panel that has a 2.5 inch crack in it and I believe that is what is vibrating vigorously when the wind gets intense from going 70 MPH. I am trying to figure how I can fix it to prevent the vibrating without getting a new panel. Duck tape maybe? Any suggestions. Thanks for the info, otherwise I'd be at a loss about the vibration noise. Phil NYC Area

What is "bump starting" a car?
@straightsixracing2 жыл бұрын
Manual transmission cars you can push to get momentum and if you dump the clutch itll start the car. This helps only really if the battery is dead or low or starter issues.

Check your engine mounts
@straightsixracing4 жыл бұрын
That too... but when I had it in the air (after replacing the carrier bearing) the rear end would shift going into gear
@123billymichaels4 жыл бұрын
I just assume engine and trans mounts are shot by now.
@123billymichaels4 жыл бұрын
If youre having issues with the rear end moving around, I would recommend that you check what I think is called the lower ball joint. It's more a spherical bearing, but its the one on the bottom with the long bolt going all the front to rear Grab the wheel and push pull on a bit of a diagonal (like you're checking a front wheel bearing) ... it tends to get overlooked and when its loose the rear end gets weird on sweeping turns at highway speed
@straightsixracing4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’m pretty much gonna do all the mounts. Those ball joints, the previous owner included new ones with things he was going to service so I assume he thought the same

@@straightsixracing the rear subframe moving when going into gear or on throttle off throttle conditions I like to call throttle adjustable rear toe and it tends to make the car wander left/right when you let on or off the gas. Obviously subframe mounts are in order. Im glad you're liking the 335
