Bootmod3 is the way to go. I’ve never seen any kind of deal for the 4 months of owning this car. Blew my charge pipe on my 16’ 435i just on stock it went at 85k and blew under wide open throttle. It made such a load pop I literally almost shit my pants thinking a broke something super expensive lol. Upgraded to aluminum cts charge pipe for 206$ plus 260$ for the shop to install

I thought the charge pipe didn't have to be changed until more power was made. I have 440i with b58. Should I stay with oem pipe or do the 435s have a different charge pipe setup that requires that change. Great video btw, love the laid back approach. Especially here in ny lol.

Thanks man! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! So the charge pipe technically does not need to be changed however, I would definitely recommend it. Since they’re plastic, they can crack and break even with a stock car. When it’s tuned pushing more power, it’s even more likely to break. The 435i has the N55 which has a plastic charge pipe. Unfortunately though, the B58 also has a plastic charge pipe so it’s still prone to the same failures as the one in the N55.

@@ayyyman_ ahhh ok the n55. That's why. I believe the charge pipe is to 2 points at the engine that torque alot thus making it more susceptible to cracking. The b58, from what I've read and seen on videos, is less stressed since the 2 piece design is located in an area where the pipe torque completely with engine instead of at 2 separate points. No need to change the charge pipe on the B58 (340i, 440i, etc.), but it does need to be replaced on the N55 if the car is going to be tuned. The plastic charge pipe has a good chance of breaking on the N55 when the car is tuned because it is made from plastic and can’t handle the increased boost. The B58 has a better charge pipe that can handle increased boost even when the engine is tuned from what I have seen. Some people do replace the charge pipe on the B58 when they tune it but I haven’t seen any threads about it being an issue like with the N55.

hi i do have question got 435i xdrive a week ago i want to give some more horsepower and thinking how safe its to put jb4 on it plus intake i dont want to do anyextra pressure on engine . car is on 63k mile . Thanks

Hey so the JB4 will definitely add a good amount of horsepower. I would just be worried about the charge pipe. They’re originally plastic and are known to break even on a stock car so the JB4 will probably just increase the chances of it breaking

@@NoahKhuja With MDH you can completely go back to stock and delete all mhd presence. I went with MHD for the cold start delete (was too loud cus of the muffler delete). MHD is safe but BM3 gives more power! They're both awesome options so really either one will work nicely. I will say that I bought the MHD wifi obd adapter so I wirelessly tune my car and it's fast.

@@BilboeSwaggins yeah I’ve used mhd in the past and I love it very familiar with it but my car technically isn’t stock right now it has a mppsk which is a upgraded tune from bmw so when I do flash back to stock idk if it’ll go back to the original/ stock or the bmw tune

It only took about 5 minutes for me, probably even less. I personally did not use a battery charger. It went by pretty quick so I don’t think it’s necessary but but if you do choose to do the same, do it at your own risk. It’s certainly possible, but better safe than sorry

Technically yes, you don't need any modifications to your car to do this. However, I would strongly recommend getting an upgraded charge pipe. The OEM ones are plastic and are known to crack, even while the car is stock.
