What’s y’all’s opinion on BM3? It’s definitely had the glow up.

W video bm3s sick I went ecutek and don’t regret it but bm3 came out with the flex fuel integration/customrom as soon as i did my clone 🤦‍♂️ if it would’ve been a week or 2 sooner i would be on bm3 right now. I also got my donor ecu for $350 so i didn’t have to pay like 6k total like everyone else but still was way more compared to bm3. Also the interface stuff bm3 verse ecutek are the same like with burbles and parameters etc.

Oh yeah getting a donor ECU is huge. Especially at that price. But the whole paying $5000 for a clone/ ecu is absurd. Especially when BM3 is just as good. Then once this whole new reflex system protuningfreaks is coming out with is released. I think BM3 is going to take over the Supra game. Shoot Mikey is starting to tune on BM3. I think he’s learning that BM3 is going to be the goat here soon.

Do you have to buy a tune after buying bootmod3? Or does it at least come with something?

The tune is separate. It doesn’t come with anything.

have a DAWs ultraflow-R waiting to be installed. just got my bm3 flex kit and wifi adapter and OTS map pack. just need to send the DME to femto. you think it's a good idea to get a dealership update before sending it in to femto? wanted to log my car stock before the unlock. you think the bm3 app will work on a locked DME?

I’m not 100% sure what you mean by the dealership update. If we are getting updates on something I never have 😬😅 then BM3 will work on a locked ECU however you can’t really do anything but monitor. I’m not 100% sure if it will even log.

@@ShayHarambe wanted to do a firmware update on all my modules and Istep update at the dealership. just not sure if it would cause problems at femto when they do a bench unlock or if i flash a map when i get the unlocked DME back. Screw it im ganna update it getting some headunit and BDC error codes that im trying to get rid of. thought maybe a firmware update would get rid of some of the error codes.

Do I have to be on 92 octane gas to use this tune?

They have different OTS tunes for different octanes. However whatever tune you run make sure you run that octane. It’s very important.

how did you initially activate the license for the car because when i try to do it with the wifi adapter it says wifi connection required ?

My initial was with a wired set up. Honestly the wireless dongle kinda sucks. So it will keep saying the wifi connection required however you want a little notification to pop up giving you the option to use mobile data or connect to wifi. You want to click use mobile data.

First time using BM3, can I tune it myself or should I go to someone? Does it save ur cars specific stock tune or does it have a general stock tune for the engine?

It saves your factory tune. I would recommend going through someone to tune it unless you’re a pro. There is so much stuff involved in tuning now it’s wild. Not as easy as changing an injector nozzle like it ust to be.

Does the car have to be in diagnostic mode when changing settings or flashing?

Yes it does! It always needs to be in diagnostic mode whenever your tuning.

Tried hooking mine up today and for some reason the app isn't picking up that I have the adapter plugged in. It shows up on the wifi and i connect to it with the bluetooth off so i know it's working. Does the car have to be on and running? because i had it in diagnostic mode.

No it will be in diagnostic mode. The wireless dongle is very finicky. Did you match the IP address by chance? Sometimes that helps? Also when the screen pops up about WiFi or connect to internet make sure you do wifi.

@@ShayHarambe I ended up just using my laptop and used my friends OBDII Cable. I wonder if it's an issue with it being an iPhone 15 pro, the wifi adapter worked for bimmer code but after about 7 attempts

Yes. I would hit up whatever tuner you want to go through and let them know. Tell them you are looking to get tuned through them, your mods and such then purchase the tune either from them or their website if they have one.

The tuner will send the tunes. So when you use the dongle you have to turn off Apple CarPlay. Your phone will constantly want to connect to the car. So go to your connection of the car and turn off auto connect, disconnect Bluetooth then do it.

whats the total time for the first tune for bm3 wifi?

Total time was about 30 seconds for writing the stock tune/ deleting then 12 seconds to write the new tune. Every time now it’s about 7 or 8 seconds.

@@bmwgamerguy2555 I often have this issue. Keep trying and eventually it will ask if you want to continue using wifi or use cellular data. Click use cellular data. There is definitely still some bugs with this thing.

Yes! I often use a enet cable myself even though I have this wifi adapter. If you don’t have good signal with internet you won’t be able to access the BM3 tunes through the app. So then I provide internet to my laptop and use my cable.

I desperately need some help! I’m trying to connect my M340i to this bm3 adaptor in order to flash bm3 stage 2 (I’ve already used this adaptor to flash xhp stage 2 successfully) but for some reason it’s giving me the hardest time connecting and activating bm3. It keeps telling me “no internet connection” after selecting the bm3 WiFi option, and when I go in to the bm3 app it’s just failing saying “you must ensure you have internet connection”. I can’t get past this. If I connect it to WiFi instead, then it says I need to connect to the car. So I’m stuck in a loop. Please help!

So this happens to me sometimes as well if I am understanding what you’re saying is correct. So when that happens to me a screen pops up and ask me if I want to stay on wifi or connect to internet or something like that. You have to click connect to internet. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. The app and dongle are super finicky. If possible what always fixes it is if I go somewhere that has strong internet signal. Like 5G or whatever. Cause most likely you are loosing your signal.

@@ShayHarambe it seems like it either wants to connect to the internet by manually inputting the IP address, or it connects to the car but then it’s missing internet. I can’t get it to connect to both the internet and the car in order to register the car and flash the tune.

@@ShayHarambe unfortunately I already did try that and it is still not connecting properly. I was just able to flash xhp with no problems, but bm3 can’t seem to find the connection between my phone and my car.

@@Eddy-09 hmm interesting. Only thing I can recommend is get the wire set up. I feel like the dongle still has issues. I have problems every now and then. That’s why I have a wired version.

When I try to connect it says the obd is connected but I have no WiFi. And when I switch to a WiFi network, the obd is connected. How do I get it to be both?

That is the super difficult part. I often have this problem. So when that happens you want to connect it to the car. You do not want to use wifi. It should give you the print eventually to use cellular data. That is what you want. Because the bm3 dongle is trying to connect to your phone via wifi.
