This saved a very awkward discussion with a local euro shop when part of my sunroof stopped working after a visit there. Note to others: some of your sunroof functions might be working but not others, and like me they might work for a short time but stop. This procedure completely fixed it. Thank you!!

I found the video about 30 mins after* I called the shop I had just got my car back from. Lol. Worked perfectly for me as well though and saved me the trip back up there at least.

Thanks a lot! My sunroof was not tilting up at all. I did this and its working now! One thing to mention, it only worked for me with the engine ON. Acc was not enough. I appreciate your video regardless!

Works perfectly. Just got my car back and I could only open the sunroof all the way by holding the button backwards rather than clicking it. Oddly tho, I could click the button to open the curtain automatically like normal but I had to hold the button to slide the sunroof itself back. Also, it wouldn't crack/tip/pop open at all. I did exactly what he said here and let it run through all those cycles and it was back to working normal again. Huge thank you!!

I wonder if that trick will work to get the sunroof the tip up on the rear edge? After a software update my sunroof no longer opens and closes all the way with One touch, and the rear tip up function does not work.

Thankyou. At first I was a bit confused because you said "keep pressing the button" so I pressed it on and off repeatedly but obviously that did not work until I kept it pressed. So press the button and keep it pressed (for those of you that misinterpreted it like I did)

@@lizk2384 hi. First step is just press the ignition on dont start the car Second step. Press and hold the sunroof buttom till the curtain closes. Then it will be reintilized again. Good luck

My sunroof was stuck open. I tried this and it reset but instead of closing all the way it got stuck on tilt. Now nothing moves when I push the button.

Sorry to hear that. I think your sunroofactuator is faulty. Have it checked with a diag tool. Good luck.

Hi. You have to keep it pressed all the time it is initializing. If yes and it still stops check your batteries. There are two batteries. Check also the backup battery. The small one in the trunk. If all this doesnt help check it with a diagnostic tool for any failts. Good luck
