Thank you for the information. Seems like a major design flaw by a team of, supposedly intelligent engineers.

Poseur777, Thanks for the feedback and nothing is done with flaws at BMW. Everything motivated by money and it is engineered to break with intention. BMW doesn't want you to be able to service your own vehicle. _Randomfix

Thanks for making this video. Quick question. Isn't there supposed to be a rubber piece to the left of the cabin air filter. I guess its to prevent dirt and water from getting under brake reservoir? I lost mines and im trying to find the part. Any idea of a part number for that?
@RANDOMFIX3 жыл бұрын
I'm sure but for BMW vehicle, visit REALOEM.com and enter the last 7 of the vin and you get get all the oem part numbers. I hope that helps.

Is there a drainage hole in that area that when blocked leads to water getting into the cabin ?
@RANDOMFIX2 жыл бұрын
I'm sure there are. I would clear all drain holes if you are experiencing water in cabin. Is there an odor to water? Have you checked the cabin air filter?
@dougquaid47452 жыл бұрын
@@RANDOMFIX thanks, no odour but the area was filled with water until I unblocked the holes under brake booster, it looks like over the years where brake fluid had dripped onto the bottom tray when changed by the bmw dealer the paint has dissolved causing the blockage!! They clearly were not as careful as they should have been ss there was no other debris in there just the black paint flecks! The car is currently drying out now! What a pain in the ass, I am hoping there is no damage to the electrics! Thanks again, cabin Air filters were all fine.
@RANDOMFIX2 жыл бұрын
Stick a fan in the car and don't let it air dry in the cold as you will get deep mold if the area is really wet. Mold in carpet is pretty common and you may want to spray white vinegar in the area before and after drying.

@@RANDOMFIX thank you, its such a pain trying to dry out that floor, just hope the subwoofers under the driverside door has not been damaged!! Your page is a godsend!! Thank you again for saving so many of us £1000's

@@RANDOMFIX the location of the fluid reservoir is ridiculous and painful.....not your video .....the location adds unnecessary work where no other manufacturer, to my knowledge, does this b.s. The level of the fluid should be readily readable. BMW (I own 2 models that do this).....no good.
