BMW 550i exhaust mod, Resonator delete, before and after sound.

Resonators are before the factory h pipe that you cut out. You want sound do downpipes and or install magna flow mufflers. These 550's are monsters with exhaust systems.

X pipe where you did the res delete and down pipes will make it sound real nice with stock exhaust

Yes, just resonator. I would have liked it even louder so on retrospect I'd have done muffler delete, unless doing catless downpipes.

Is there any drone? It doesn’t sound much louder than stock, just throatier.

Zero drone. It did bring some extra volume that you can now hear, especially on cold starts. But still too quiet for my taste. Now it's about the same volume as my XF Supercharged Jag was stock. I'll be doing a muffler delete at some point and catless downpipes.

No, because the resonator is not a catalytic converter, but this car is so old and any F10 that there is no warranty.
