BMW 635d ( best daily ?)

The more I watch videos like this Matt, the more I get a taste for older cars, the new ones just don’t seem to do it for me these days. Good video mate 👍🏻

I also have one of these 635d 2010, found it with just 36K Miles on the clock, still as new, spent some money doing preventative stuff, xHP Gearbox Tune, Intercooler upgrade etc. I get about 42mpg out of it, car is stunning, its the 3rd one i've had. replaced headunit with XTrons to get Apple Car Play, did Glowplugs, Gearbox oil and Mechatronic Seals, also rear Diff Fluid. Painted the Brake Calipers in Mclaren Orange, SS Brake Lines etc. Car is fully spec'd out too, self closing doors even. Its super fast, comfortable and economical too, build quality is top notch.

Dailyed mine for almost two years now and it's such a great car. Mine is in black with Stage 1 map and sunroof, and the dark wood inserts. Also has the Logic 7 sound system which is the best stock sound system I have ever heard in a car. They are brilliant cars, mine gets between 34-36MPG long term depending on the temperature and the journeys I do.

I wish mine had the logic the sound system is great but the l322 I had was a lot better due to more base etc so I may look at upgrading. I tried to find one with wooden trim but I went for lower milage and FSH over top spec so missed out on some bits 👍🏼

4yrs ago was looking for a good tidy 335d, couldn't find one, daughter said "dad, why don't you get a 635d instead" found a good tidy 635d, black on black with wood trim. Never looked back, so glad I got the 6 over the 3 series, Fantastic car and often gets compliments from complete strangers. Excellent Video Matt. Subbed. 👍🏻

If you get a 635d, high miles , have injectors tested if any smoke even with dpf on. They ain't cheap to replace but cheaper than a spun bearing and engine rebuild! Can cause oil dilution if fuel leaks into sump from leaky injectors. If your oil level goes up.red flag. Dpf will clog too and will still inject diesel which....leaks into sump, more dilution...REGULAR oil changes (do not ignore oil leaks ,you risk bearing spinning )and clean that dpf of ash..change thermostats...and you'll enjoy a lovely car! M57 is a lot more "indestructible" if you keep an eye on these!

I had an e92 335d for 5 years. dpr off, intercooler etc with a custom tune. Its an amazing engine, and you need to get the xhp stage 3 for the trans, its night and day! I now have a E89 35i but think im gonna get a 635d instead

This shape has grown on me a ton since it came out, its a lovely car mate, on a long cruise it would be perfect. I've driven a few cars with that engine and it is a great motor! Enjoy. Take care dude.

A remap for the car would give you more power and economy but a GT car for an everyday cruiser is nice

Lovely motor - I have the exact same car also tuned by DMS in Southampton - 635d 2010 edition sport etc. I have used it daily for 6 years and put over 50k miles on it (not really used during covid of course) Quick notes: - stock power is 286bhp - with their map easily 42mpg on motorway For the gearbox get an XHP Stage 3 map on it - different animal and it’s far quicker than stock

That's great stuff to know I did manage to get 41mpg out of the other day but my journeys are usually 20 mins long so often lower. The gearbox is the only slow thing about the car so I will have to look into that but the map has definitely made it a lot smoother !

I honestly can't remember mate , they are fairly expensive as they focus on super cars however I'd rather pay the extra money then get a cheap Celtic map and blow the car up 👍🏼

the shocking is that this model 635d its 400kg lighter than 640d gc..so this woth 360hp will run same times as a stage 2 640d
