Nice when it works Paul eh? Did you snag the wee bike?

That spark plug looks like it was really stuck in there. Nice to see how you deal with these. I never had to do it, but will file this one away in case I'm in a similar situation. Also, I like how you explained that the easy out type extractors are not suited for this kind of jobs, because I think an average DIY-er in most likelihood would reach for such a tool first and make things worse instead of better. Quality stuff!!!

Thanks Derek. This bike is going to be fun. I have another Beemer which is MUCH worse and will need a ground out resto....so good to kinda cut my teeth on this one. General engineering principles will get us through this one with just some specifics required around settings etc. I like this one enough to keep it...but I've said that before and then sell them. The hunt and the recommission's always the bit I really enjoy. Thanks first watching.

If its the same as the Z650 it's pretty straightforwards. I'll be doing one in the next week or two. Good luck. Send me a pic of the bike when its done. rodcurrie88@gmail.com. Thanks for watching. Rod

Great save Rod, I had some sort of the same idea but not the same, probably wouldn't have been the same outcome either, I know you explained that tool before, but what is called and where did you get it? I need to have one in my box. That and your brain just saved hundreds of dollars to buy the other bits you need. Thanks for that video, have a great rest of your weekend.

Thanks Jack. Its called a " reverse thread cutter" I didn't know there was such a thing but thought it made sense that there might be so I just put those words in Ebay and damn' me there it was! That one was made by Sealey in the UK I think but there's probably more and I bet there's a similar thing in the States. . It's saved me 2 cylinder head repairs already and lots of work, and only cost about £10. If you can't find one your side just Email me and I'll get one to you at cost

BRILLIANT! Might save you a lot of money one day ...and if you help a buddy with it he'll think you're a genius. Free beer!
