Never seen one of those thread chasers and I’ve been an auto tech for 30 yrs. Awesome tool gonna have to buy them.

Me neither! Been involved with engineering since 1975 ( yes really) and its a first for me too. Just thought it made sense that there might be such a thing...Cost was about £20...maybe $27...worth every penny. Thanks for watching my channel and maybe a few other gems might drop out...not frightened to say " I don't know" and who knows what might fall out of the interactions. :0)

Love the reverse thread cutter. Better than taking the head off!

Me too Paul. Truthfully, wasn't sure such a thing existed but thought it made sense that it might...so did some googling and there it was. Super bit of kit for 20 quid-ish. If I'd had to take the head off I couldn't have bought the gaskets for 20 quid...much less the time involved doing it.

Good honest video Rod, bet most KZbinrs would have edited the thread cutting bit. I have my liner in, thanks mate.

I try to make them real life Phil ad if I screw up or it needs some tweaking it's what the guy watching might well experience too. I don't put ALL my screw ups on though...you guys might realise I'm an idiot! Thanks for watching.

Great tips Rod......what a great fix for the the spark plug thread ! Also, carbs have always been a mystery to me, especially float heights. You have made things a lot clearer to me thanks.

Hey Keith. Glad to give any enlightenment on the carb front :0). The plug fix is great eh? . Thanks for watching as ever.

ROD WHAT ABOUT THE BITS OF SWARF GOING IN TO THE BORE
@rodcurrieclassics81022 жыл бұрын
Hi David. The amount involved with a thread clean would be minimal and hopefully would be stuck to the oil I put on the tool as it came out up the thread. As you've seen the bike has run since and is fine. It's one of those situations where there are no great choices, just less bad ones.

Just in case anyone doesn't trust the oil to hold the small bits, try putting bearing grease on the cutter. Great video Rod, keep up the good work, I enjoy them very much.

Thanks Jack. Yeah, bearing grease probably is a better option in cases where there's a possibility some larger pieces of swarf. Good that you're still enjoying my rambles. I try to keep it light.....but without sounding like a game show host. :0)
