I thought I was just stupid. I've driven manual only for the past ten years, and the second I start driving my 135i it felt like I was driving manual for the first time. I couldn't get a smooth start to save my life, and shifts felt kinda jerky. I'm so glad to know it wasnt really me, I'm doing this mod ASAP

I know, right! It’ll feel much better with the valve removed 👍

I did not know that this valve existed, but now I understand why I cant get proper gear changes. Will remove it ASAP for sure. Thanks for the tip !

@@MTechGuy This afternoon turned into a real nightmare :( I deleted the CDV, and pumped the clutch pedal to drain fluid and air bubbles BUT I left the drain valve open while releasing the clutch pedal. As a result -> no more fluid in the system and no idea on how to refill it. Finally, I found the solution by myself and a few hours later I can enjoy a smooooth clutch and gear change. I'm soo happy :)

@@axelblitz5284 what was your solution just incase?
@axelblitz52842 жыл бұрын
@@piovo1 Refill the system, master and slave cylinder but it was tricky as I was alone : press the pedal down, find a way to keep it down while you close the drain plug, raise the pedal, open the plug and repeat the process until its fully drained

How do you know things like these? And where did you learn how to perform the mods?

Hi MTechguy I have an e87 120d manual there is a jerk every now and again on my clutch from take off could the problem be the CDV or old fluid?
@ngwoodworking7691 Жыл бұрын
So clutch and brake fluid is in the same reservoir?
@MTechGuy Жыл бұрын

Have you idea On my 118d 143ps after remap and I pull engine I have 4560 and 4570 fault code I dont find the raison
@MTechGuy2 жыл бұрын
Fuel pressure issue, my guess would be the remap hasn’t done you any favours

Must do mod for all manuals. If you know how to drive stick properly, this delay valve will only be in your way and make you feel you can’t shift yourself without the car “interfering”.

Hey there. I've had a full day today following a few of your videos on my 130i! Amazing videos. This one has left my clutch pedal super soft and won't enter gear. Have a bled it wrong? I don't have 1 way valve so tried two person. Any help would be awesome thanks!
@MTechGuy2 жыл бұрын
Glad you’ve found the videos useful man. You have air in the system, it needs to be bled. Two person method should work fine if closing the bleed nipple each time before releasing the clutch pedal. Be mindful of the reservoir as described in the video, you may be introducing air

@@MTechGuy got there in the end! I was fully depressing pedal but seems half way is the sweet spot. Thanks for the quick reply. Car got almost all new fluids and filters now so very happy. Thanks again. Now Mickey mouse and new coolant next.

Hi! I’m about to get the cdv removed on my 120d but they told me to buy a clutch delay valve delete? Do I have to buy that?
@MTechGuy Жыл бұрын
No, the hose will connect straight to the CDV connection like in the video

Yes, but you do have to bleed the system afterwards

Hi guys I tried this and removed the CDV and opened the bleeding nipple to drain to flush the fluid but once closing the nipple and topping up the clutch fluid my clutch pedal was dead so soft and no pressure at all. The car still started with clutch down but would not change gear. Not sure what I’ve done wrong as I followed all the steps in this video. Any suggestions ?
@MTechGuy2 жыл бұрын
You need to bleed the air out of the system

@@MTechGuy I took it a garage and they said the slave needs replacing which I find hard to believe as the car has been working fine. How do I bleed the air out if I can’t pump the clutch to force the air out ?
@antraxx2672 жыл бұрын
@@LeanMachineFitnessTV Remove the slave from the transmission to check if its leaking. If not you can semi bleed it by hand. Crack the bleed screw loose. Push in the piston, while holding it in tighten the screw and release the piston. Repeat until clear fluid without bubbles comes out. But then bleed it properly by pumping the clutch. Or try pumping the clutch with bleed screw loose to get fluid into the cylinder. Keep the fluid level high tho!
