Always push down on the electrical connector wire pin, it comes off without loosing it.

Thanks so much for this video, Pete! I'm restoring my 91 m42 right now and found a bunch of oily residue. A video likes this saves so much time and questions. Definitely keep making these buddy!

Thanks. I just got done upgrading the fuel injectors and cleaning out the motor bay. Coming out soon.

@@petescarport What changes do you expect to see from the fuel injector upgrade? I heard a while back that some Mustang ones were a direct fit and replacement.

@@rodyprieto2071 I actually just swapped mine out. I'm planning on launching the video very soon because I accidentally ordered the wrong ones the first time . But you are correct you can use the Ford ones and what you need is the 4 hole Bosch versus the single hole that comes stock. What this does is give you better fuel atomization, which helped with throttle response and fuel economy

The electrical connection, don't pop it off, it works by pushing it down. Why does no-one in the trade in the US seem to know how these work?!

Great video. I need to do the same on my '89 316i (M40), I believe it's the same process.

2.30. The wire adapter is even neater. You are supposed to press the clip to unplug it. At least mine works that way. Makes life much simpler :D

Hello dear friend. By chance you have the vehicle manual where it specifies the tests that can be carried out in the ICV. I'm having idle instability issues on my 1990 e30 320i. I came across a magazine article that said between the center pin (+) of the ICV connector and ground, you need to measure the battery voltage. And between the center pin (2) and pins 1 and 3, it should measure 10 VDC. In my case, pin 2 and pin 3 measure 4.1 VDC. I measured it at the output of the ECU (positive battery and pin 4 ECU) and the value is the same. I changed the ECU and the output voltage value between positive battery and pin 4 ECU is 4.1 VDC. Some help ?. Greetings from Chile, South America.

How’d you delete the idle air control valve? Just take it off and block both pipes? My 318i is running like a dog atm might try it

Hmmm. Could be a lot of things but usually has to do with MAF sensor or maybe a crack in intake hose. That's why mine is currently idling bad
