M54B30 is what im going for in my 89 318i i purchased earlier this year! Got alot of work ahead of me as im not the most mechanically minded. Worried about having to change the diff and back end as I heard thats pretty important. RIP to your mate DZ as well man, sorry to hear.

Great conversion for the series 2 318i , thanks Damian was a good dude 🙂, just leave the rear end in to start with, we even ran the 4cyl gearbox in this one too

@@Grooty79 I'll have to keep you posted with it! Ive heard the rear endis a bit flimsy and could be at risk being torn off since its double the power and torque? I have heard the gearbox is fine to leave but i think i read the flywheel has to be changed?

@@giordano3570 I've been building fast e30s for just under 10 years and if your a good driver and understand how to not hurt a car you will be fine, I have seen 300hp put through the little diff and not break

Great car! How much power do you think the ITBs add to the m54?

Probably 15rwkw, for the $$ better off doing a small set of cams and a nice set of headers, m54b30 cars will do 150rwkw ish with a ecu flash, first mod we do on all cars is aftermarket ecu

Nice car. ITB definitely not worth for a street car. Electronic throttle and disa make it way more drivable on the street.

I agree, I think with this car a set of nice headers and some small cams would of been a better option for street duties, the car was built for track but sadly my never see track work ☹️
