hey there great content, I was looking into true coilovers for e36 and e46 but because of how flimsy the rear end is you need to do strengthening to where the shocks go, are you eventually thinking about it or have i missed a video. Thanks again

Good video - helped me install my CATuned suspension on my e30 n54. But I’d be nervous about all the weight of the rear of the e30 being put on the strut housings. Seems like you’d need more beef there. How has the car been since you completed installation? Any rear end issues?

Hey have you done the reinforcement plates on the front and rear cross members? Would like to see a how-to on welding the plates, tabs and alignment thing-ma-bobbers.

TexasRedneck check my other videos I did the whole how to weld on camber and toe adjustments awhile back when I did the rear Subframe. Soon I will do some rear strut upgrades.

Is there any reinforcement required in the rear? I love the idea but I'm skeptical if the rear shock mount can completely support the weight of the car.

Are you running a true rear coilover with any reinforcment to the shock tower? because these shock and strut towers blowout with stock suspensions. As far as I've seen the least amount of reinforcement used in a true rear coilover bmw is a mason brace and everyone else has cages tied into the towers.

if its a daily then probably, my buddys 98 e36 dinan m3 blew his rear shock tower at 150k on tien coilovers

it can be installed, but it wont last long.

Sure it can, it will just rip out the shock tower. Personally I tied my rollcage into the shocktower to avoid the torn sheet metal. Some just need to learn thing their way.

How much room between the rear coils and the body of the car? Tight fitment?

Haystack Malone not much at all on the passenger side I ended up removing a metal shroud to get more clearance.

Man, I always cringe when I see anyone cutting the $1500 OEM strut assembly. Is the difference in performance really that much to warrant the irreversible mod over a simple Spec E30 setup?

$1500 OEM strut these are like $20 at any junk yard. I would say yes they are way better than just springs.
