So glad I swapped the original latch system out in favor of a button pin disguised as the hood badge. Still your video was helpful to get the damn hood back open in the first place lol. What a pain in the arse.

@@vvsxo I got myself one of those hood button style hood pins and put it right in the middle of where the badge goes. Then I got myself a BMW emblem, grinded off the mounting pegs and added a rubber oring as a shim under the emblem for clearance with a nut epoxied right in the middle of the roundel that engages the button on the hood pin when I press down on the button. I then added a chain under the hood and left the 2nd latching mechanism for safety reasons so the hood never flies up. It's jank but it works

I'm running into the same issue at the end of the video. Cable seems too short and I've got little to no slack. Hood closes but it's super tight and wont open again until I repeat the latch process from underneath. I may redo the whole thing

Fucking how sorry I am getting pissed I’ve spent over 3 hours trying to got the rubber to go through and am only half wat great help was able to get the hood open
