THANK YOU!!!!! You're a life saver. I'm almost finished putting my E36 back together. I bought it with a cracked head. I hadn't touched it in a minute and couldn't remember where those lines went.

Thank you so much for this video!!! I removed my intake manifold and suddenly i had a hose sticking up from the vacuum storage unit and I couldn't find where it's supposed to go! Also, I discovered my vacuum storage can was just flopping around and not mounted correctly. Nothing on line could show me where it goes!!! You also showed me that I'm missing both brackets that hold up the manifold. So basically you solved like 5 issues that have been causing me stress for a few days!

Nice video. FYI for anyone who is confused about 32:20 because it doesn't match what they see. In my 1998 E36 328i there is no mount for that electric vacuum control valve (VCV) like he has. It just hangs under the intake manifold and that connector doesn't go it. There is another connector that comes up to it. That said, it annoyed me that that mount existed but my car didn't have it so I bought it and mounted my VCV on it. However, the connector didn't reach so I lengthened the wires so now I have the same mounting setup but the wires are coming from underneath, not from that plug off the fuel rail. One caveat on the VCV "hanging". Maybe there was some other type of mount for it, I don't know, I bought the car 2nd hand off CraigsList years ago and I learned that the kid that owned it "learned" mechanics on it so if there was some alternative mount, I'd like to know it but it will probably forever be a mystery I'll have to live with. I know it was a learning vehicle for him because of the many things I found "not as they should be" and put right over time. BTW, if it crossed anyone's mind that maybe the connection for my car should be like the video shows, I was concerned about exactly that, so I pulled out my scanner (a pretty good one, professional grade (too good for a guy using it on just one car)) and went to active tests and made sure that that the test for activating the VCV was clicking that valve as it was currently connected and it did. It kind of freaked me out that maybe I had this car for years and possibly two connectors were cross plugged so I "active tested" the **&^ out of it.

You just answered all 5 of my questions and showed me where a vacuum hose I couldn't find cause I was throwing code p1423 . I just bought my 328i and the guy straight up lied to me. But I do have a very important question. How was driving one day and my car started overheating or the water coming out so I'm thinking oh crap now I got to replace the water pump. It wasn't a water pump. It was my AC motor and water was just going everywhere but after a few days just let it sit. I got back in and driving and it's never been overheating since. I just don't have no AC and there's nothing being blown out of my vent. What's the problem that I'm having?
