BMW E36 M3 LTW/GT2 WING INSTALL. Tips/What to expect.

Got this replica gt2 wing on ebay. It was made in Poland. I briefly go over what it takes to install. A few instrumentals I enjoy are included as well. I hope this can help someone out.

No sag yet. And yellow foam in a can from Lowes. I think it's called great stuff.

I bought this to from Poland but it was a fixed high vert. So I cut it from the risers and filled with more fiber glass then sanded and taped for the holes.

Yeah for 250 dollars it's great and has not started sagging like you hear about. I took it off recently to get it painted.

I ended up getting long threaded studs to put in the risers so I could use a nut. Check my updated ltw video.

Man I’m worried about that expanding foam closing up the holes for the bolts. We’re you thinking about applying too much of that stuff that it could break the wing from expanding ?

Held up just fine since I made this video. Even filled the risers and the base since then.

@@araboharabedian to seal them off. They would collect water when it rained. And also to add a little weight to the piece

How did you exactly put foam in the wing ? And risers ?

Hey man, the 'great stuff brand foam come with a straw looking nozzle attachment. I simply drill a small hole at each end of the top spoiler where it meets the risers. Also I drill a small hole in the risers. Inject the foam through the small holes and tape over when you are done so it dosent expand out of the drilled holes and make a mess.

Aron Dillon great man, if you don’t mind telling me what it needs to be mounted on because I bought it at the same place you did

@@seesig5319 also get shorter m6x1.0 for attaching risers to the top riser. Other than the hard ware, I laid 2 in wide blue painter's tap all across my trunk. After that I put the base of the spoiler on the trunk and set it even distance apart from both outer sides of trunk. I used addition tap to keep the base if the spoiler in place. I used a pencil to mark my drill spots. The pencil fit perfect though the holes so it made it easy. Use whatever you feel is right in your situation. Then I removed the spoiler and looked at my pencil marks. I started with a small drill bit to create my holes. Then I worked my way up to a 5/16 or 3/8 bit, I cant remember. Make the holes the right size for the hard ware.

Ordered one for my M too. I think you just have to bust out a little filler and do some sanding to make everything line up perfectly. I'm doing a vinyl wrap myself so I get by without having to go to the paint shop. I would have thought the foam would have expanded and caused the wing form to bulge in places.
