Welcome to another BMW E39 M5 DIY how-to guide.
Today we will be looking at installing direct cooling to the front discs via a dedicated ducting hose from the front bumper to the rear of the front brake disc shield.
This shouldn't take you more than a couple of hours to do yourself and costs less than £35.
Why do we do it? The E39 M5 doesn't have front brake disc direct cooling as standard and therefore when used hard on track, the discs are prone to overheating and warping. This little modification will help keep the friction surface temperature cooler and therefore prolong the life of the discs.
