Thanks for the great video! Very straight forward install. One question though, is there a place on the oil filter housing where a temperature sensor could be mounted? Thanks,

Do you have a video of swapping the radiator
@WestinghouseProductions6 жыл бұрын
Here is the video for that - I reverted back to an OEM BEHR unit shortly after as the alloy one wasn't up to providing the cooling required of the S62 engine. The principle is the same though regardless of OEM or aftermarket radiator. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bH61ZZhtqZqsrpI

What are the fitting specs again? -7/8JIc?

Why not add a factory cooler designed for automatic transmissions on other e39s (540i, 530i, etc) and run engine oil or power steering fluid in it. It clips right in next to the original power steering cooler and would be a much cleaner installation.

At the time, i used what I had available. The PAS cooler has since been changed again and mounted elsewhere to free up space/cooling for the radiator and engine oil cooler.

Thanks for all the videos! Did you notice any hp gains going with electric fans?
@WestinghouseProductions7 жыл бұрын
No noticeable gains - but lets be fair, a 400BHP engine isn't going to lose anything noticeable with a viscous fan. The main reason for the electric fans was a reliability upgrade.
@derrickg56127 жыл бұрын
I'll probably upgrade my 540 to electric fans. With much less hp I'm thinking It will help a little.
@WestinghouseProductions7 жыл бұрын
Derrick G it'll certainly help with reliability and giving peace of mind. You can also modify the thermostat on the M62 4.4 engine too open at a slightly lower temperature which will also help with reliability.

Did you happen to make that shroud with the electric fan or did you buy a kit ?

Trying to add some sort of oil cooler to my Supercharged E39 M5, where did you get the adapted oil filter housing from?

Where did you get the new oil filter canister
@WestinghouseProductions6 жыл бұрын
817jlp Direct from BMW. Your local dealer/parts department will be able to order you one. The BMW part number is 11427511171

Are you still planning on supercharging the M5?

Hi Daniel. Not at the moment, I've bought a stupidly outlandish Range Rover Sport which will no doubt hoover out my bank account pretty quick!

Where did you get the parts? Any idea if this will fit on an E39 540i ?
@WestinghouseProductions7 жыл бұрын
Hi Roman, The filter housing with oil cooler takeoff was from BMW and is part number 11427511171. The oil cooler is available from any good motorsport shop or eBay. The hoses are custom made from a hydraulic hose manufacturer.

Who was the supplier you used for the fittings? I've been searching and I can't find JIC to metric. I'm in America so that could be why. Thanks!
@WestinghouseProductions7 жыл бұрын
Hi Derrick G. I get them supplied by a local hydraulics firm and then modify the metric side slightly to shorten it so it doesn't protrude from the housing and fits correctly. I may look at producing them for sale soon and include shipping to America as a few people have asked about them too. Cheers
