This video demonstrates how to retrofit a VANOS pressure accumulator to the BMW E39 M5's S62 engine. The pressure accumulator became standard on cars produced from 12/00. BMW pre-wired the engines from 7/00 production, making this job much easier. The car in the video is a 4/00 M5 that required a wiring retrofit as well.

My car 540i 2003 I feel that the torque is a little weak and it consumes more fuel than I supposed and I feel that the car while driving is heavy and when I start it in the morning shivering and the engine lighting appears and sometimes turns off, but when it warms up the vibration disappears but I am tired of thinking I do not know why the power is weak And you are consuming fuel. Can you tell me what to do or what causes the engine’s weak power and a feeling of heavy vehicle?

You should scan the engine computer (DME) for codes. If it is not idling smoothly or making adequate power, there are bound to be some trouble codes in there. Lots of things could cause this like bad spark plugs, coil packs, MAFs, cam sensors, fuel pump, fuel pump filter, fuel injectors, knock sensors, air filters, vacuum leaks, etc etc etc.

E39Source Thank you again very much for your response, and I really appreciate it, I always follow your videos I checked the vehicle on the computer and the errors appeared to me as follows, and I photographed the results of the examination on the phone The errors will be written to you literally as they appeared on the scanner cylinder 3.6.7.8 misfire detection additive mixture adaptation (bank1 and bank 2 hot-film air mass flow sensor signal activation. intake flap Please tell me what this means or rather clarify these errors and thank you again and I will not bother you again

@@MHD_85 I would replace the spark plugs (all 8) and mass air flow sensor to start. Clear the codes, drive the car, see what returns and how it runs!

E39Source I replaced the spark plugs 3 months ago and traveled approximately 1000mph when I pressed the accelerator pedal to smell the smell coming from the bottom of the car.

I wish I could find a good maintenance center and I trust most of them. They want to invent many breakdowns in the car to take a lot of money.

The accumulators don't generally go 'bad'. I've never seen one fail, so I don't even know what the symptoms or codes would be.

@@7Mario777 There are two types of them. The earlier ones did not prevent startup noise from the VANOS system as well, so we upgraded it to the later one. The newer style ones started shipping 12/00 and later.

@@7Mario777 It will drop some, but the later ones should hold pressure for the next startup.
