Hi Mate great Job as always, 😎 but i highly recommend you to check your belts cause coolant can damage belts , or better replace it as soon as possible if you don’t wanna have a cracked belt on the street

Changed my belts not too long ago and forgot to mention that this would be a good time to. But I did have a video on those as well!

Before this fix did you lose coolant like crazy? I just changed my fan clutch it sounds better and starts better but still overheating

I noticed a big piece of your water pump pulley missing I hope you saw that and replaced with a better metal one like I did

Hi Han! Did you drain the coolant first? And if so, was it hard to bleed the system after refilling it? Do you need special tools for refilling and bleeding?
@HansGarage11 ай бұрын
No need to drain... please watch the full video I explain it there.
@Sebastian.t12311 ай бұрын
@@HansGarage I did watch it. I just expected more coolant to come out where the thermostat comes loose. I guess there’s not much there because it’s the top of the system? Anyway… good video. Thank you!
@HansGarage11 ай бұрын
@Sebastian.t123 sorry I got mixed up with a different video lol. Here's a video you should watch kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2XJemeXnZ6hmqs By design no need to drain the coolant at all if you are doing only the sensor!

@@HansGarage Thanks again mate. My e46 is giving me a P01619 code. So im looking to replace my thermostat before it fails completely. Only thing holding me back is the need to drain, refill and bleed the coolant. But i understand that’s not necessary. Biiiiiig relief. Thanks for replying, your vids are very informal so im happy i subscribed.

Yea, thermostat will spill a little bit and just need to make sure the lower hose is upright. I would make sure to have a draining pan underneath to not make a mess!

yo, Han, I'm about to replace my waterpump. it finally took a dump after 23 years. should I replace my thermostat too? I replaced it back in 2016, about 40k miles ago. what do you think?
@HansGarage Жыл бұрын
I say might as well if you are doing the pump for preventative maintenance. FCP euro baby!

It’s fine when idle and can stay in operating temperature but when driving problem starts smoke coming from hood
@HansGarage Жыл бұрын
You definitely have a leak somewhere. I would replace lower hose, usually the weak spot. I had no leaks prior to my issue
@dvnnix1234 Жыл бұрын
@@HansGarage yea the smoke comes from the bottom and is just steaming hard and coolant is trying to cool engine down. Smoke come straight from the bottom towards coolant cap side
@dvnnix1234 Жыл бұрын
@@HansGarage I can even rev on idle and it will remain on operating temperature till I start moving and also when I open the hood it’s coolant spills on the overflow area it’s not too much but noticeable easy to call condensation but idk
@HansGarage Жыл бұрын
@Dvnnix yea... you definitely have leaking issue. I would check lower, upper and even the coolant reservoir tank

Perchè non installare un termostato con apertura anticipata a 95°? Di serie monta sicuro uno da 105°

2000 328ci, temp gage recently only goes to a little above the 1/4 mark even after warmed up and driving. Not leaking any coolant. Sounds like the thermostat is bad?
@HansGarage Жыл бұрын
Yea that was my issue I had with my thermostat, I'd do water pump and thermostat at the same time for preventative maintenance if you haven't done so

I do not. These engines prefer not to turbo since they have very thin walls

how many e46s do u have??? i have a 330ci for the summer and a 330 xi for the winter. is your automatic??? i swapped a 5hp19 tranny from a 2005 325I and swap the tcu from a 2001 325i. The 330ci stock tcu sucks the tcu from the earlier model are more aggressive. I downloaded a tune from a youtuber and the car has a nice pull now. These motors are build very well i have 260k on my other 325 and 230k on my 330xi and theyre bulletproof.
