there is alot of stuff connected to the fan shoud itself. No one mentions all the hoses and shit thats attatched to the damn shoud and the damn box thats so hard to get in and out you end up nicking the rad with the fan blade xD

some clutches are 4 bolt designs, and some fans are three bolt ones (like the one you have there). I bought a replacement three bolt fan only to see the fan clutch on the car is four bolts Also, I don't know if the three-bolt clutches are just as compatible as the four bolt clutches? Is it just a different design in bolts, but essentially the clutches are the same functionally?

Hi ! I really need help because one of the small Allen nuts holding the viscous coupling to the fan is busted. Can't take them off now. There are 3 of them. What sizes are those??

Hi Can you please tell me what activates the fan clutch as I've just bought my 1st BMW and its a 5 e39 20i 2002. The fan is on when I start the engine!!!

it will alway be on, since its on a water pump pulley which is driven by a belt. If the fan clutch is working properly, it will "lock" itself up when air in engine bay area reaches certain temp. Thus it will spin much faster

I don’t believe you about opening that clutch that easy. It’s fake. I try it and the water pump goes with it. You need two tools for that.

Having loads of fan noise from the second I turn on my 330Ci, and I can't turn the fan by hand when the engine is off. Is that normal, or should I be able to turn it?

My 02 E46 M54 2.5 took it for a drive last week about a block from the house clutch fan wobbled lose all the blades snapped. it did not overheat I got it home and seeing that it knocked one of the hoses off the thermostat replaced everything now I got a little bit of milky substance is it possible a piece of the fan broke two plastic water coolant pipe or CCv
