Thanks for the great video. I got a clear view of all details I needed. I have an e46 2004. I got an error P0174 recently and found already a crack in the intake air boot. Now I know how to replace it. The thing costs only $20 on amazon.

Can this Boot be used for M54 engine in E39 2003...with 2 openings only?...there isn't a third opening/connection for a the third hole/receptacle The BMW dealership has one with 3 openings

What is that hose mounted on the boot for? I bought an 320i 3 weeks ago and the lower hose not only is broke but it looks like it has been blocked on both ends ! Thanks

Hi @Auto Repair Guys, It's not necessary to detach the sensor assembly cable. Is it? I understand detaching it yields more working space, but am thinking on older cars, the less the plastic and rubbery parts touched, the better. TIA.

The second air intake hose directly to the engine also went bad on my 330Xi so check that one as well !

It is a fuel filter vacuum line the fuel filter is right below the driver door and it runs all the way down there

I did the same, but this isn't a permanent fix. It's better to replace the whole boot.
