BMW E46 STRAIGHT PIPE OVERVIEW AND FLYBYS - EASIEST MOD FOR POPS AND BANGS

Hey man, i have an E46 330i, i did remove the very last resonator and the endmuffler, and the sound is pretty good (video on my channel) I have some good pops and bangs too, but it is not so loud as yours. I thought i’ll do the other resonator delete (closer to the cat) but how is the droning in the cabine on the highway. I’m a bit worried it will be too much droning while driving on the highway… thanks

Droning was pretty loud but it never bothered me to be honest. I got tired of the Wailing at high rpm between shiftings. What would help a ton if you go the route of deleting the last resonator is replace it with an X pipe. It will help smooth out the rasp and help a ton with drone. Also give you some more HP to boot 👍 I never got around to going full straight pipe with an X pipe but I was really curious as to how it would sound. I Think it would be awesome, give you the loudness with more refinement. Last set up I had was an X pipe just after the cats, and then straight all the way back to a Magnaflow muffler before the exhaust tips 👍

Hell yeah brother! Glad I could be of inspiration to you! Little tip, if you’re going to go straight pipe from the Cat back, add in an X-Pipe, it will increase performance and help with the overrun nastyness

No tiger, Cats are still there, everything else after the cats is gone though. Straight pipe through.

Yessir bro its worth it cause it really doesn’t cost too much to do, and the change is dramatic. The Y pipe or x pipe will really help too. Im doing a New video on that soon boii 😉🐍🤺

Honestly i’d delete everything and then add back in a resonator of some sort, like a borla or magnaflow just to deepen it a little bit and remove some of the rasp

Does this affect how much gas your car drinks because I sawed off my resonator on my e46 330xi and the bitch guzzled until I had pipes welded back in place now it’s got a deep growl to it

I have a 2005 bmw 325ci automatic with muffler delete thinking of going straight pipe to get that pop sound you think ima hear them ?

Ooooo idk bro the pops i only get cause i can leave it in 3rd and just blip the throttle while my rpms are at 3K. Thinking about it though as long as you got the tiptronic and can do manual i don’t see why you wouldn’t get the pops. Although the 325i engine isn’t the same so take that into consideration

Yeah you should the 3.0 might be a bigger displacement but something about the 2.5 is quicker and a littler more efficient than the 3.0, I’m guessing more pressure built up in a smaller place, so yes you should definitely have pops and bangs even at lower rpm’s than 3k I’m thinking around 2.5k rpm or 2.2k
