Enjoyed the series a lot so far and I noticed the way you format these and edit them make it easy to watch. I like in other videos when we were under the car you explain where we were oriented and what we’re looking at. I also like that you put some music subtly in the back like beats and drums, and it’s never over done 👍 good luck

Is this 2.5 or 3.0? being lazy but also giving you a comment. :) Coolant hose end braking off on the block is an easy fix. Just grab a pointy 90 degree pick tool and cut a slit then fold it in then pull it out. Takes only but a minute to remove since its so brittle.

Just about to go through the first 4 parts of your series. After you have decided that $100 turbos don't match up with all the money you will end up spending getting the turbo system built and tuned... The pulsars seem to be a good quality knockoff 6262 and GT35 which are the right size turbos for just around 500 on pump gas. Looking forward to this series. I assume you will go through the specs of the parts as you go. Unless someone is doing your tuning based on that MAF and those Injectors you can use are resistor on the stock MAF and tune with RomRaider or IF you are going stand-alone for tuning a MAP sensor is going to give you better tuning than the OEM ecu.

When you have trouble with the sensors, they ground via the threads you coated with sealant. Just a small bit of sealant on a few threads leaving half or more threads uncoated for ground may be better... good luck.

I’ve had so many exhaust systems on my e46 and right now I’m running a full UUC TSE3 system. It doesn’t have an x pipe and you can tell just by the sound. The exhaust sounds great but it doesn’t have that smooth blended tone. I also have a SuperSprint x pipe welded to an Eisenmann race exhaust and that thing sounds absolutely beautiful. Love your channel man.

Great video. I am in the process of turboing my E46 aswell. I will run a Garrett G35 1050. I am currently building the motor with forged internals. I still have to install an X-Brace and I still need to reinforce the subframe. Hopefully I can get it done by next year... It's been stitting on jackstands for one year so far... Are you going to use a bov? I’m considering removing mine for more turbo sounds 😄 also what about the wastegate? Mine is external and it’s pointing to the ground, so I’m getting a lot of gasses in the car, and I’m kinda over it, and wanna weld it in the exhaust. Do you recommend me doing that?

No BOV brother I want the noises too haha 😆 Waste gate im trying to figure out as we speak. Being a top mount AND keeping AC is going to be tricky forsure but i have found a spot in mind which I’ll discuss in Pt. 5 👍 Yeah i plan on feeding mine into the downpipe as well to avoid exactly that so yes thats my recommendation as well.

Tip for anyone else doing their coolant hardlines: Use a soldering iron on the plastic stuck inside the block VERY carefully. I used this method when both of mine snapped in the block, and you basically slowly make an incision inside of the little ring and it'll snap the seal thus allowing you to just pull the rest out by hand.

@pythondon 8 күн бұрын
They both have their positives and negatives. One for me was money, i had already spent quite a bit on other parts, and I heard keeping the Disa from the M54 intake helps alot as well. Then to really take advantage of the M50 intake you need to port the head which is what I would have wanted to do to actually take full advantage of the larger runners etc. The only real modification to the M54 you have to do here is Tapping the CCV ports and the ICV bung then the Disa tap. If your disa is operating fine you’d be good from there. Upgrade was just for piece of mind for me 👍

This is the most I’ve ever worked on a car mate. Before this it was coilovers and typical brake jobs etc. I want to make a video on just this topic here once everything’s done but essentially, what DDBuilds said. Hours and Hours of research. I think understanding the simple mechanics of the turbo and whats required to convert a car. Once you get the concept really understood questions will naturally begin to pop up in your head and you can go down the list finding those answers until you understand everything you have to do. I went and looked through videos of past builds to learn stuff through there, the FaceBook Group M54 Boosted is a HUGE one as well that I spent hours searching through. Im hoping this series can really answer alot of unknowns for people when it comes to understanding how to do this completely. Will probably have a Q&A episode one day too.

I had a 380hp 19 gli dsg. Tuned the dsg was amazing. Now i have a 24 gli manual. I really miss the dsg. Everything about it is so much better. The manuals not even more fun. The dsg spoiled me. Fun efficient fast reliable and handles power lika beast. Handled 380whp over 60k miles zero issues. The manual stage 3 clutch cant even last that long. And drivability is shit stage 3 clutch. Also even if you could shift as fast as a dsg its still slower because of the gear ratios. Buy a dsg. Theyr litterally a 10k $ transmission for a reason. Yet you only needa for an xtra 800 for it. So worth it. Dsg does not miss out on any fun Tuned its a gem. Tuned u can do everything tou could in a manual. Raise the rpms wherever you want. Bounce it off the limiter. Launch conteols amazing. So responsive. Feels so solid. Has the clank of a manual when get sporty but honestly smoother then a torque converter in daily driving. Very rarely does it get confused. But its in situations youd get confused with a manual too. So. Buy a dsg. Skip the manual. If it were a special manual maybe but. I want my dsg back. I would if it didnt mean taking a 4 grand loss on a 2 week old car😂
