Hey guys, in this video we will show you how to change the oil on BMW 7 series E65 and E66. We demonstrated this oil change on a 2003 BMW 745Li. Always check the manual for the CORRECT OIL CAPACITY since some models and years will differ.

Do not use 0W-40 oil on these. Use 5W-40. These motors like to burn oil, and 0W-40 is too thin for it, especially if you live in a hot climate.

That motor does not have a conventional oil dip tube. That tube goes to the upper sump which oil sit there by check valve to combat dry starts. The car takes 8.5 quarts of oil. When you start the motor you must refer to the MMI for oil level digital reading. Hope this helps.

Hi, kind of a late comment reply here. Hope the car’s treating you well. I recommend 5W-40 in these cars. Liqui Moly is best. I think 5W-30 is too thin, especially with their tendency to burn oil. I have 200k miles on my 04 745i, and have been using Liqui Moly 5W-40 for a long time. Valve stem seals are original and happy in my car :)

wont work i put 20/50 oil and didnt help smoke i was tryn to pass smog it smoked only when smog tech hit the gas all way down WOT.

My 750li takes 8 qts. Better to use Castrol Synthetic.
