Those tiny fibres that break could end up in your eye when you blow them off. No doctor coud find it in your eye because it is totaly transparrent. Maybe use glasses. I also try to fix ecu before I replace it if there is too much damage. And about the previous comment we all know about "no coding neded for used ecu" :-) Keep up the great work ! Thanks.

@threepotMR25 жыл бұрын
Golden rule on E90, any engine faults, always check the ECU first as it takes seconds to pull it out the box. It is very common for them to have been swimming in the box. I have swapped alot of DME on E90. You can clone them with KTAG easy enough, and if the eeprom is totally rotten then there is a handy tool called "ISN CAS DME Editor" which lets you change the used scrap yard DME VIN number and CAS code to match your own CAS.

Blocked drains is not a Renault thing. The same way it's not a BMW thing! Fact is that anything that's dependent on drains, is also dependent on maintenance! Which, as we all know, sometimes is missing altogether. Damn, a couple of weeks ago I had a clogged rain downspout on my house! Loaded with leaves, etc. Fortunately there's no electronics below it. Otherwise would be the same drama! LOL 😂

Great effort at repairing this ECU but, 1: You spent a lot of time on it; 2: Did you find every fault ? I prefer to replace an obviously damaged unit unless the unit is so rare or expensive that the amount of time to repair it is justified. I'd spend the bulk of the time fixing the root cause - the water leak - and maybe resealing the replacement ECU to reduce the possibility of water ingress causing a similar issue down the track.
@LMAutoRepairs3 жыл бұрын

In this other video, this person also found his car running very rough. he checked everything, sensor and ended up looking into the ECU unit. took it out and found the bottom part damaged from oxidation with water damage.... He said, don't waste your time in fixing this as its very time consuming and yet it might not get fixed at the end... So he bough a used one, switched it and the car was instantly fixed.... No coding needed for the used ECU unit.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Not I did not... If you watched till the end, is all in the video... But to be honest, I owe you no explanations... Next, you are going to say that in all the videos I have, where I repair the modules or ecus, that I replaced them...🤦♂️ Still, thank you for watching!

@@LMAutoRepairs obviously you didn't understand what I posted.... I said that someone else in another video had the same issue you had. He found out the ECU was corroded with water damage as his car was running horrible with all kinds of codes. He just replaced the unit and the car was completely fixed... U in the other had decided to go the long way in fixing the unit in which you claim it was time consuming and a pain but at the end you and many hours you ended up fixing it. This is great for someone on a budget and has all the right tools to fix their own. So with that, much appreciation to you for taking your time in making these videos for all of us to learn! A+++

Got you know...😊 I definitely misunderstanding you... Yes, it took a bit more, that said, would take half of the time if I didn't had to record it...😋 Replacing the unit it is easier, but is not just replace as you probably know... there is a bit more stuff involved! Again I apologise for my incorrect interpretation of your last message, and thank you for taking the time to reformulate your comment! 👍👍👍👍

how much did you ended up charging $$$ total the client for this fix? I want to compare it to buying a used ECU module just in case.... thanks.
@LMAutoRepairs3 жыл бұрын
My repair videos are primarily for learning purposes... It is a part time for me, most of the time I charge for the parts and consumables... that's it... So theoretically, my fix was way cheaper than just a replacement ecu... leave alone the programming etc...😊 Thank you for watching and for your comment!

Hi, GREAT VIDEO coincidence my BMW E90 328i is literally having the same issues you experienced so was very educational! Watched the whole video! I shorted out the plug for accelerator now I have revs back and fault codes go away, I just feel abit intimidated at shorting the ECU board Is this safe to do? I’ve always been told avoid shorts at work and should only be temporary (not a mechanic) appreciate any advice you could give. Thanks
@LMAutoRepairs Жыл бұрын
Well... if you can, replace the ecu... But using a voltage referente for one extra sensor, shouldn't be an issue... 👍👍👍

@@LMAutoRepairsThanks for the reply!! 🙌 I think I’ll buy some solder and give it a go, Just to clarify this didn’t cause any future issues like burning anything out? With the constant supply
@LMAutoRepairs Жыл бұрын
No... it is just a voltage reference supply... Nothing to do with the mechanics of the engine... 👍👍👍

Uau, parabéns mais uma vez! Consigo ver horas e horas seguidas.

@@LMAutoRepairs okay, so that's a BMW specific software, correct? So do you have to use a BMW specific cable with it or will any obd2 cable work with it? It seems like a lot of dealer softwares require specific cables.

Hi Yes, some do require specific tools.. Some others, work just fine with a J2534... ISTA, works with both, and with a relatively cheap D-Can cable... 👍👍👍
