@dean1674 жыл бұрын
Also what power source did you go with in the end ?
@ZeroTo60Tube4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dean, they are still looking good. However, when you install, it is very important not to kink or bend the fibre optic tube. If you kink it, it will not allow the light to pass through it so brightly. I think that is what so many people do when they install them. They are just too rough and actually damage the fibre. Make sure you power it up out of the car first and look for any hotspots. If there are hotspots, that means its kinked and wont look right in the car. In regards to power source. They are still connected to the 12v socket in my globe box that i use to charge my phone. I have not hooked them up to the headlight circuit yet. Just been a bit busy this year. In saying that, the app works so well. Its super easy to turn them on with my phone. Also as a heads up, it's not very bright at all during the day.
@dean1674 жыл бұрын
Zero To 60 Great heads up! I will take that on board I’m not gonna be bending it around any trim etc gonna install without damaging the fibre, in all honest opinion is it worth me installing these as I’m gonna have to take doorcards off etc and hardwire it in but don’t wanna go to all this trouble if there not gonna be worth it, if you say there not really I’ll just send them back and buy a proper ambient light set
@ZeroTo60Tube4 жыл бұрын
Well the big difference between these and a kit designed specifically for a vehicle, is these dont reflect or shine on parts of the trim. They just glow/light up themselves. A factory fitted kit, is designed to light up and reflect off part of the trim. Thats the difference. For what these cost i think they are a wicked way to modernise and older vehicle. Is is comparable to a new 7 series or S class, lighting.... no. It was definitely worth it for me, but i like doing diy stuff.

The black car gets very hot inside in QLD heat, so it is hard on the interiors. Basically just used some glue to hold it in place. The biggest thing i would recommend is set it up for use at night only, so you wont see it during the day and it will be the correct brightness at night time.
