Helpful info I hope after watching this helpful video. My BMW was showing a fault for airbag and seat belt warning and I needed to sort this before it could be put in for its MOT and I assumed it would be a massive and expensive problem. Having identified the problem through videos like this I bought a replacement Roc and although most information indicates the unit is behind the driver's seat in fact it was behind the passenger seat which made things a little bit more time consuming however it was very simple to remove with two screws I bought a new unit and fitted it but unfortunately the warning lights still remained on which was very frustrating... interestingly the first replacement unit that I bought second-hand fitted perfectly apart from the actual connection it had a very slight different plastic connection. I searched for yet another unit and of course it was three times the price but fitted perfectly. Problem not solved. Eventually took it to a local automotive electronic garage and within a couple of hours everything was fine and working perfectly with the fault gone! So what did they do? Simply reset the system and it only cost me £60 in total including the diagnostic so the moral of the story is try the basics first and reset systems before you spend time and money on the worst case scenarios. Got a new problem now, lol relating to the trunk not closing down on the hard top!! However, it closes perfectly with hood up...I'm guessing it's a switch.....off to the electrical guys again ! Love my car but she can be a bitch!! Lol Happy to share any issues...sometimes it's not as difficult as we think when we share.

Did you need to code a new one if your replacing it ?
@Logic7repair7 ай бұрын
No, it’s not holding coding data, main airbag module does.
