Bmw EGR valve test

I am checking EGR valve on Bmw e65 730d M57. Testing if it closes and opens quickly and fully.

I have a message “engine reduced power” on the dashboard is this related to the EGR? Also when I want to start up the car it doesn’t straight away. 3 kin or 5 min later it turned on. What could be the issue?

Hi could be EGR, but first thing is diagnostic. Read fault codes, it could be lot of things...

Why I can’t see the throttle flap ?

It is because, this version does not have it. Bmw without DPF does not have throttle flap, which is necessary for DPF regenration.

Hi change the new EGR but is not doing g like yours is not open and come back like yours. Is staying stuck,and I have the error whit gas recilculation deviation.you know what is the issue?🙏

Hi mine is closing and opening because of testing procedure is started by diagnostic. In your case it is normal to stay stuck. If we talk about M57 engine, EGR valve is controlled by vacuum which is controlled by electro-pneumatic valve. First thing is to measure vacuum and check vacuum hoses for break.

literaly non lmao, just pull off the vacuum line if its the older m57 but obviously deleting as a whole is better

@@keszhardened2199 Decided today to delete with a straight pipe. M47, and when i remove the cooler, do you know what size are the hose caps that blank the water pipes?

heats much faster on winter, the engine is smoother(engine is designed to work with EGR ON) and you need 300$ to delete on software(on most cars)

@@marcko1493 I heard it heats slower as the engine burns less optimal. Also I am going to do a stage 1 tune so the software delete is no problem.

@@niklasnaper6596 if you are doing a stage 1 i recommend 100% the EGR delete, it heats faster with the EGR on but is not a big problem, you will notice a boost increase from 0 RPM to 1800 RPM if you delete it.

Yes, EGR is not good for engine life. You can disable it on older engines, but on modern ones is not that simple, you have to modify software.
