I have a 2012 BMW LI and followed your instructions and changed my plugs. Thanks. Don’t forget to buy the special socket before you start the project.

Thanks for the video, I replaced my spark plugs and ignition coils today and it was a breeze. The only drawback is that I broke both plastic pieces that connect the engine cover to the vacuum hoses. The single interior one came off easily, but the other 2 wouldn't budge.
Used this video to change my ignition coil and spark plugs. Excellent video! I would like to see the air box hose instruction though. It came loose during removal.

geat video easy to understand thanks.Is it standard that you need to remove the sleave in cylinder 6 before you can remove the spark plug

great video easy to follow I would like to make one comment,when you remove the two vacuum hoses on the drivers side(Australian version)make sure you push the connection forward a fraction then squeeze the two claspes a little and pull back,dont force it or the plastic fitting will brake.If you do brake it remove the entire engine cover and glue the fitting with a srong bonding plastic glue should hold ok.

To anyone thinking about using Bosch plugs on thier car, i dont know why, or how but the OEM Bosch plugs are absolue shit and made my car stumble/ stutter at idle. Car is bone stock no tune. Pulled a mix of ngk plugs and genuine oem bmw plugs out, replaced with bosch and 5 out of the 6 cylinders would have random misfires at idle. Swapped out with 2 step colder ngk plugs (did not adjust the gap i think they are set to 0.026) and the car idles super smooth now. just my experience, i personally will never use Bosch oem plugs again, took me forever to realize that the spark plugs were causing my idle problem.

Did you also had jerking under moderate acceleration?
@andyb10188 ай бұрын
@@DieFlavius no the issue was only apparent at idle. After owning 3 bmws over several years, this was the one that made me go buy a Honda. The problems just never end with these F01s

If you have multiple misfires, is it recommended to change out all plugs simultaneously?
@BMWorks_NL5 жыл бұрын
For the price of the plugs YES waste of time to do it over again, BUT multiple I would look into your coil packs going

Looking for exact socket. I bought a 12. 14mm thin walled socket from craftsman but it ain’t working. I need to know where to buy the proper socket. Schwaben has one will it work?
@KK-wf8zu5 жыл бұрын
It has 48,000 never had spark plugs replaced. Still think it’s coil? Diagnostic only threw 1 n 4 misfires.

Thank you for your detailed video.These plugs are the stock ones and of course are strogly recommended for the stock N54 engine.What about for a tuned engine?I know that you have already tuned your car close to 380hp.Is it safe to use this plug for your tuned engine?Have you made changes to AFR to the rich direction for safety reasons?
@BMWorks_NL6 жыл бұрын
I have no issues at all with the stock plugs, with my mild tune it's fine, if you want higher numbers and more HP then yes i understand you want some colder sparks, as for my tune it actually made the car consume less (at normal driving speeds of course)

How did you fix the engine cover exctly? Does gluing really work?
@BMWorks_NL5 жыл бұрын
twistedcells yes with epoxy 2 years and holding
@yoctobit6 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't that copper grease, aluminium block and the spark plug create an electrochemical pair and corrode the threads over time? Especially in high heat.
@BMWorks_NL6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it was just a drop to "lube" the threads, I pulled 2 out that were almost stripped had to crank the car to have the shavings blow out. you make a good point! Thanks for that so others may benefit
