After 3 mechanics, 2 months with the problem, you solved my problem. The only issue was that after I pulled off the fuse, my calendar resets every time that I turn off the car. No biggie after all. Thanks so much!

Wow! Glad this helped you. It does the same with me- calendar and clock. The real fix is a new cluster from BMW, but that costs close to $2k!

2014 bmw 320i been trying to fix this car for a year 3 batteries new alternator, Ibs cable ,I pulled that fuse no more battery discharge ...I'm beyond happy !

How did you do that ? Number 50 on the diagram is light brown 5 on the fuse but how can I pull it up ? Do I need to remove battery first . There is a sign ⚡️ and might hit me ?

Wow, you might’ve saved my life. I got a f30 BMW 335i and bought it with a bunch of computer issues. Everything is fixed now but the only thing is the check engine comes on and battery drains. Took it to multiple mechanics and one of them told me I need an instrument cluster. Didn’t go back bc he was charging too much. And others mechanics can’t find the issue. I think this is it. Thank you I’ll keep you updated

@@weldingjunkie yeah it fixed the battery drain but check engine still came in from time to time. But it also was the fuse for my heads up display so that sucked haha. Had to get rid of the car.

That is correct, a new instrument cluster is the proper repair but costs upwards of $2k for the part, installation, and programming. Sad that the F30 has electrical problems. An otherwise excellently reliable generation for the 3 series !

Worked for me ! This definitely helped. I also can’t reset my oil after I pulled that fuse. No biggie. I just forgot what actual fuse color was in the 50 spot

Glad to hear! Yeah, a new gauge cluster and programming it is the proper repair. My CBS mostly works but I can’t reset oil counter either. Didn’t work before either 😆

Thank you! Unfortunately, it appears the heads up display on newer models doesn't function without that fuse. But still certainly a great temporary fix

didn't work for me. after installing a 100A shunt amp meter, when locked it would start draining over 20-30A.

I’ve got a similar problem with my bmw 523i 2010 .. atm if I jump start it drive down the road come back home leave it off for 2 hours it’s just fully dead 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ any ideas what it may be?

Sounds like it needs a good charge at least. If you jump it off, take it for a good drive to let the alternator charge it up. Battery could be bad but I have no idea.

I can’t remember exactly since it’s been about 2 years. I believe there was a fault code present in BimmerCode that led me to research the problem

I have the same car but there isn’t a fuse 50 on there it just has the number 4

it wouldn't have the number 50 on it. 4 is the fuses amperage.

Facing the same issue here with a 2014 320i. I bought a virginized used cluster off eBay and it’s still draining the battery but instead of taking out fuse 50 to stop the drain, I just pulled the cluster out all together 😅. I’ll just chalk it up to the seller selling me one with the same issue but let me know or please post another video if a brand new cluster fixes the issue 👍

Yeah the best way is a brand new one from BMW and coded by them. I am content with this”fix” . Sorry the virginized cluster didn’t work out for you, I was considering doing that before I pulled the fuse.

@@Bigem82 2012 320d SE. changed seats to 1series Msport seats.Exact same physical seat fitment and swapped airbags so no problems there. I didnt plug in heater or lumbar only plugged in what i lpugged out from original seat. Car is giving this problem since?

No- the fuse isn’t the problem, it’s the gauge cluster itself. The fuse getting pulled is a band aid sort of repair. Really a trading of one problem for another

I have the same issue.. I will try this am try to get emissions done but once I get the readiness ready set when I switch off the car it reset the computer 😂😂 pain in ass indeed...the memory is in the cluster and I have the battery drain warning
