I just checked my cars window sticker, It says ambient lighting is included, so I believe everyones F30 should be able to do this! 🤔

There are some that don't have the lighting plug. An easy way to tell is if you have that light above the cup holder you can do this mod. That is where the power is coming from for the LEDs in the bezel. If you don't have that light, you don't have that power lead and it will not work.

I just snipped both connectors off and soldered them together and heat shrunk.. works well didnt have to wait and buy a y cable from china

You are suppose to remove the negative cable off the battery BEFORE you disconnect any devices in your vehicle!

I have a 2014 bmw f30 (320 xdrive) but I dont have that little light on the bottom panel, therefore its just a plastic pannel. Any suggestions on another spot where I could plug the light system if I decide to get it?

Quick question, so when i turned mine on it had the white light on by default and I don't have the option to change my lighting type under iDrive. Did yours turn on orange by default, or how do you switch between the colors?

You should disconnect the negative terminal on your battery when doing this kind of stuff.

My pre LCI f30 car has the default lighting package so it has the lights on the door cards and the little pot lights, wondering if these aftermarket units are significantly brighter than the Oem lights? I just don’t want it to look off by being much brighter than the oem door card lights.

not all models of 3 or 4 series have this OEM Led at the this point to get the panel in. but this part should be for all models. but dont have the little led from oem... what yet?!

Don’t feel bad I went on Amazon and picked up basic tools tool to pry open interior parts . I did so far a lot on my own and gradually moving up . So start with basic mods . Like engine start button , bmw center caps ect

Hey swift when i attempted to take out the cd player and ac unit out of the trim i disconnected the 3 black cables that hold them together. I managed to plug them back in but now i have no power to my ac unit? Any ideas why that might be?
