Hey just to let you know the plastic gasket on the k&n filter actually Builds pressure on the oil filter housing and it will leak oil from the top not from the bottom when is the bottom is the oil filter housing gasket I thought that was my problem but it was just my k&n filter

I highly recommend you to buy original oil filter because original oil filter come with a proper O- ring and plastic drain pan plug! Did you have to change every freaking time unless you have a metal drain plug (bolt) ! then you can buy Mann filter at your local auto part store and reuse your metal bolt (drain plug)

Edward Cabeza yes on videos was kind of looking Dangerous by me sliding with them on concrete. But they're plastic I never ever had a problem with them as long as you place tire on the middle and don't slide on them like I did in this video lol. They currently sell better ones they more durable and steady than mines I hadfor the past 5 years or so.

Edward Cabeza don't worry they're very durable but I recommend you to buy one that made out of two pieces you can take them apart put them inside of each other and store, don't worry, they went through a lot of testing, it's not like you're putting 18 wheeler on them :)

Just curious, I see your using Pennzoil 5W-30 which I believe they say is BMW LL-04 and not Pennzoil 5W-40 which is BMW LL-01? Is this car a diesel or why use the 5W-30?

Screen Share you put in too much my friend. The F30 N20 engine takes 5 litres which equates to 5.3 quarts. You put in the equivalent of 5.7 litres so almost a litre too much. I'm sure it won't do any harm but I never listen to what the dealerships say I always go off my tech manual.

Good Call avoiding the K and N filter. They are awful! I wrote a bike off with a K and N filter and they didn't admit negligence. Never use K and N!!

@@unstablenature oh lol :) Haha. I remember I accidentally grabbing ATF bottle and empty out a whole quarter into the engine.. ATF bottle was green Castrol just like 5w-30 oil, for my old car.... sad story that I already had few fresh quarts of oil in engine so I had to drain everything out again and refilled with fresh oil.. By the way BMW drain plug on my 320 was plastic and for one time use only

No, ofcourse not. For one time use u will be fine. Not a big deal.... But long time use, changing oil over and over with different oil type - No! . Engineers had a reason to use oil they specified! Please don't forget description to this video. Thank you

Ramps about $40 at Walmart. Set of wrenches u can pick up for $30 at Harbor Freight store. Wrench adapter to remover oil filter about $10. Set off allen wrench sockets you can pick up at Harbor freight also for about 5 bucks to remover drain plug.

Also Mann filter dont come with plastic drain plug and it very critical to change them ever oil change!. You can reuse them only in emergency situation. Unbelievable they use plastic drain pans and plugs on this hight priced cars...

i have a 2015 bmw 320i recently did my oil service & i tried holding the reset button like you did, but it’s not working why is that ? My engine Iight is not on but on my dashboard it says -7000 miles on service. i already did the oil change what else is there that i have to do now ?

U doing something wrong. Try to unlock and lock the car with a different key. If I'm not mistaken you supposed to have a master key when you bought the car it came with the two keys one is a secondary and I was one is Master but I could be wrong

No u dont. I think so it's in BMW computer. BMW actually changed Mileage on oil change intervals from 8000 to 10000 so if you go right now to dealership it will be 10000 ever time..

you put 1/2 quart less than recommended, then drive around for 5 mintutes, recheck the oil level, and add if necessary. it's not good to go over the maximumn.

A 320i is a “non turbo” 180hp 4 cylinder The 328i is the “turbo” 240hp 4 cylinder

Ryan T lol.... yes it is !!!!!! It's twin turbo which technically just ONE in there, but trust me, I know you need to do more research!! 320i is 4 cylinder and 328 have 6 cylinder obviously more power and more horsepower. But they have same exactly engine same technology just bigger engine

Ryan Truong yes, it's takes 6 quarts of oil lol. You have to check your manual every model have a different engine. Mine was 2.0L , 4 cylinder

alphanate75 I would never ever recommande to go 10000 miles on the same oil change. BMW recently moved from 8000 to 10000. When I bought my BMW it was brand new and I had free oil changes so I was going there every 7k miles. Usually when u have synthetic oil you don't have to change until you reach 5000. I would personally recommend just change every 5000 and you'll be just fine.

Please read description! it takes 6.1 quart. You can put six quarts and will be just fine. While you're driving for eight to ten thousand miles before your nrxt oil change you have to add oil anyway cuz BMW engines always burn oil.... specially old ones

@@IvanRossSI dont know if you already fixed it but you put on the lid with the plastic parts, that lid is not going to seal and you will have a vacume leak from it. at best it will give you bad trim numbers and not so good fuel economy, at worst the car wont start. but you probably knew that since you are in the mechanic business

Dann2013 Mike vehicle was still under the warranty. Wasn't trying to take a chance of something happen with the engine, specially the way how I drive.. after inspection they could find out that I was using another filter, and could blame on the filter failer. I know I was using not original oil but it would not make a difference and I didnt wanna pay $70 for oil OEM from dealership....

You warranty is gone anyway because you didn't use BMW LL-01 approved oil. You need to buy the Pennzoil Euro line.

On the bmw dealer the oil and oil filter is more cheap then autozon or oreilly.I have a 2014 bmw 320i 4 cilinder 2.0 T and the dealer told me need 5 liter of oil.Why you put 6 quart?The 6 quart is about 5.6 liter.I thing you put more oil.The dealer told me 5 liter,I bought from the dealer only 5 liter original oil 0W30.
