Still my favourite BMW short film. I love the way Clive Owen flicks the steering wheel, lets go, and the car does a great drift around the corner. That scene is what I still remember after all these years.

But I totally agree about Owen being a great potential Bond, and thought so ever since I saw him YEARS back, in this obscure (but great) British Indie film called "Croupier". [For some reason I wanted to explain how I came to see this film, so skip this boring story if you have no interest, lol]. This indie theater was having some kind of 'special event', and they hired my dad to be the piano player for it; he insisted I come along even though I was only like 12 and couldn't play or anything yet. So I was just sitting idly in the lobby watching these theater people toast each other, eat appetizers, etc. The owner of the theater saw that I had gotten dragged along and was a bit bored, so he came over to me, and offered a free ticket to any film I wanted to see, along with anything I wanted from the snack bar, all free (a very nice bloke!). Even at 12 I had quirky taste in movies--all of the films were independent-type movies, but they did have some kind of goofy kids movie playing, I opted for "Croupier" cos the title sounded cool, plus it was rated R. It ended up being this pulpy, but very sly and funny as well, almost film noir-esque film about a struggling writer who takes a temp job as a casino Croupier, and ends up getting roped into a heist. That was my first exposure to Owen, in 1998, and even there he had all the hallmarks of a great bond: Confident, suave, but also somehow the unspoken signal that underneath it all this is a damaged man, a potentially dangerous man. Also didn't hurt that the film had that old-school, also noir-style narration throughout the picture, where Owen's character would comment on his own life as it were a novel. Wow, apologies, I honestly didn't intend to write a long ramble like this that nobody will read...but, in any case, if anyone is a fan of Clive Owen, and/or thinks he would have made a great Bond, you should totally seek out "Croupier"--its one of those films you've never heard of, but once you finally see it you wonder how in the hell it isn't some kind of universally beloved hit, if there was any justice in the world...

Okay, this has nothing to do with this specific clip, BUT...does anyone who had the actual DVD remember, the bizarre, amateur-film type thing made up of the "sub-stories" for each short? You could watch 'em separately, but I always chose the option to watch it as one long thing, since it had none of the people from the actual shorts anyway. I now know that technically its purpose was the little codes/websites etc hidden throughout, as a promo type deal...but what an awesomely nonsensical, ridiculous little short film out of context. *Hispanic woman walks towards chubby mailman warbling in rapid-fire Spanish* Chubby Mailman: "Ahh....I dunno...what yer...talkin' about..." *Gets tazed violently* lol

MADONNA - THE QUEEN OF POP! Madonna Louise Ciccone (/tʃɪˈkoʊni/; Italian: [tʃikˈkoːne]; born August 16, 1958) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She has influenced various other artists and has often been referred to as the "Queen of Pop". Madonna is noted for her continual reinvention and versatility in music production, songwriting, and visual presentation. She has pushed the boundaries of artistic expression in mainstream music, while maintaining control over every aspect of her career. Her works, which incorporate social, political, sexual, and religious themes, have generated both controversy and critical acclaim. As a globalized figure, Madonna is also noted for her cultural impact throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. She has her own academic subdiscipline devoted to her named Madonna studies. Scholarly reviews and literature works on her made Madonna one of the most "well-documented figures of the modern age". Madonna moved to New York City in 1978 to pursue a career in modern dance. After performing as a drummer, guitarist, and vocalist in the rock bands Breakfast Club and Emmy, she rose to solo stardom with her debut studio album, Madonna (1983). She followed it with a series of successful albums, including all-time bestsellers Like a Virgin (1984), True Blue (1986) and The Immaculate Collection (1990) as well as Grammy Award winners Ray of Light (1998) and Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005). Madonna has amassed many number-one singles throughout her career, including "Like a Virgin", "La Isla Bonita", "Like a Prayer", "Vogue", "Take a Bow", "Frozen", "Music", "Hung Up", and "4 Minutes". Madonna's popularity was enhanced by roles in films such as Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), Dick Tracy (1990), A League of Their Own (1992), and Evita (1996). While Evita won her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, many of her other films received poor reviews. As a businesswoman, Madonna founded the company Maverick in 1992. It included Maverick Records, one of the most successful artist-run labels in history. Her other ventures include fashion brands, children's books, health clubs, and filmmaking. She contributes to various charities, having founded the Ray of Light Foundation in 1998 and Raising Malawi in 2006. With sales of over 300 million records worldwide, Madonna is the best-selling female music artist of all time. She is the most successful solo artist in the history of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and holds the record for the most number-one singles by a female artist in Australia, Canada, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. With a revenue of over U.S. $1.5 billion from her concert tickets, she remains the highest-grossing solo touring artist of all time. Madonna was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, her first year of eligibility. She was ranked as the greatest woman in music by VH1, and as the greatest music video artist of all time by MTV and Billboard. Rolling Stone also listed Madonna among the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time and the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time. She also featured in several Forbes earning lists as the highest grossing female artist during various years across four consecutive decades. And I have the great honor to have in my discography ALL THE STUDIO ALBUMS of our QUEEN OF POP. All in CD format and in triplicate, and others in quadruplicate, quintiplicate, sextiplicate, up to seven copies! I also have two units of THE IMMACULATE COLLECTION, three units of SOMETHING TO REMEMBER, two units of CELEBRATION, the soundtracks WHO'S THAT GIRL, I'M BREATHLESS, the remix album, YOU CAN DANCE. Well, in short, I've been a huge fan of Madonna since 1984 when I first heard the single "Borderline" on the radio. I felt that she was different from all other artists. And I was not wrong! Madonna is the true and greatest Queen of Pop Music in the world! And I'm one of Madonna's biggest fans! May God bless Madonna always. forever! Forever my Lucky Star, my Ray of Light! In good times, in bad times, she was and will always be my inspiration, my strength to move on with my life! I love her with all my heart and soul! She is always on my mind!, ♥️💯‼️👑💯‼️😘😘😘
