Great review. I've got one now. Absolutely love it. Installed a small windshield. Now it is just fine on the highways.

Good to see companies offering more entry level bikes. Back in the 80s there were some nice little bikes; in the last few years they only been in Europe and not being offered to the Americas!!

A good commuter bike. Good economy. Comfortable and probably pretty reliable. Looks decent. A bike that wont set the road on fire...but will get you where you want cheaply.

Hi Dave and team. Please could you do a breakdown for new riders on the procedure of obtaining a license in Ontario and a few tricks to consider when getting started. I am very interested in getting on a bike, the only issue being the somewhat impossible task of obtaining reasonable insurance. Many thanks in advance - Mike

The bike looks great for sure. I had my eye on this and the new Duke 390 in the spring (I'd love to see a review of the Duke). I ended up with a new 2016 CB500F, I'm sure I would have been happy on all three.
@MotorcycleExperience7 жыл бұрын
The CB500F is awesome. Though, so is the G 310 R. We've touched on the Duke a bit on our show on TSN. It's on our wish list to test ride.

I am looking at a G310R for my wife. Can you tell me how tall the woman was in your video?
@MotorcycleExperience6 жыл бұрын
I believe she's around 5 foot 4.
@iknownuthin20076 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. My wife is 5'2" which is a tough to find a road bike small enough for her, especially a newbie. This particular bike, that won't break the bank, with ABS, and has a relatively short seat height, may just do the trick.

Good video. And oh, it's a 313cc engine not 310cc as the name implies. :) I road one too in the same colour.
@MotorcycleExperience7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yep, 313cc. I guess they figured that 310 sounds cooler.

Thanks for your analysis. I'm 75 years young & riding every day, in the Tropics, a 192 Kg 2010 Yamaha single cylinder 660 cc MT03 bike. I'm looking at that BMW G310R as a possible LAST bike! The G310R is 28 kg lighter & has a 2 cm lower seat. For the moment this BMW is on top of my list with the Honda CB300 & the current Yamaha MT03 320 cc as second & third choice 😃😃😃
@1990-t1j7 жыл бұрын
I like the wheels, and the bike is good-looking in a generic sort of way. Do you have the Yamaha MT-03 in Canada? 321cc parallel twin. Way faster than this.
@MotorcycleExperience7 жыл бұрын
It's on our wish list to test ride. Hopefully will have something up here in the coming months.

NOT ONE WORD was said about the ENGINE? Didn't it have a Reverse Exhaust/Intake placement? BTW...all the stuff you mentioned are Easily replaced in any PARTS STORE.....(sigh) but not the ENgine, (its BMW Engineering why People overpay for their crap) ....(sigh).....
@han12184 жыл бұрын
"It looks hardcore sporty", but it's not. "It likes to be revved", well you don't have a choice, or else it will barely move LOL, 0-60mph in 8+ seconds. My full size sedan can do that. I've been looking at the BMW G310 series, and I'm leaning towards the G310 GS. Even though they both have the same small engine, at least it can be taken off road, so you won't feel bad that you can't take it over 75 on the highway comfortably. It can do both, which is a plus.

I rode one last week. This is just a beginner bike. It is good looking and says BMW on it. It is a one cylinder beginner bike and nothing else. You will be bored silly after about 1 hour and if you bought one you will want to get your money back and buy a bigger more powerful bike. It is not a great bike it is just a pretty bike.
