There is no getting around the fact that the BMW G 310 RR is essentially a rebadged TVS Apache RR310. But there are some changes that BMW has made to differentiate this motorcycle. Zaran Mody finds out what they are, and what effect they have on the riding experience.

Well, I was looking for a beginner bike and did went through all the better value for money propositions - finally got my BMW RR on Aug last week. For me its the much cleaner looks with the standard black storm metallic, premium buying/service experience and peace of mind with higher QA standards.

The wise decision would be to buy Apache with all kits added and after a year change the colors and graphics to BMW, and stick a BMW badge to the side fairing.

If I have to choose between the two. The only main reason I would go for Apache is because of the tyres. And tyres give you confidence. And when it comes to bike confidence is everything

People dont give enough credit to TVS for bringing us such a great bike like the RR310. The prrof is that a reputed GLOBAL COMPANY like BMW has released the same bike with their brand, sure does say a lot .

To be very honest, the BMW logo and the Style Sport paint does make a difference. Very happy to see the BMW-TVS collaboration doing very well. Made in India, exported globally. Coming back to the Apache BTO. A better deals sans the badge. Love the BTO. Both bikes are great and most would logically go for the Apache. I like the BMW due to the paint and the appeal. Very happy to see the BMW-TVS collaboration bringing joy for both companies.

Better to buy the Apache and fly under the radar. Instead of gathering attention, the capability of the bike is what matters more and you’re definitely getting a good value too. I loved the Apache when I took it for a test drive in India. Unfortunately TVS aren’t selling any bikes in Saudi Arabia but BMW do, so that means this means will come here in the BMW form but will be pretty expensive.

I believe is that... Apache might be a good choice... but most of the people out there have various versions of Apache, where as BMW RR will stand out unique... in its own way. Also the style sport variant is amazing in compare to any color/graphics combination we get on Apache..!!

The obvious and simple answer to the question was always a big NO, except for the fact that if one wants a BMW badge and has a bias towards foreign companies . Also , vast majority see BMW as a luxury brand , that's why it catches attention . No vast majority but only minority of people find this bike sporty and striking looking BMW. BMW does excellent job with its other sports bike in 1000and above category motorbikes , so also launch of bikes like these by BMW is underwhelming.

If bmw want to capture Indian mid segment market they need to work very closely with TVS to provide better service,and availability of parts on reasonable rates. Indians middle class now have budget they are willing to invest on 3-4 lakh bracket bikes.

No one is talking about its after sale service..I own a Rr310, I've faced a lot of issue regarding service..its only available in selected service center.. not in all TVS service center
