nice, im gonna refresh my oil between bmw dealer service intervals. i dont trust their long life oil claims and want to keep the car for as long as i can, i loooove this car, wouldnt want to change for anything else in the world. thx for sharing!

It takes 0w-20 not 5w-40

It's only the Americans which use 0w20 oils. It's so they get little better fuel economy for their CAFE rules. 0w40 is best for this engine. But 5w30 or 5w40 is also good.

I bought brand new 540d and after 1500 km there is a lot of piecec of metal in oil filter when you use the light to see them so I recommended to change oil after first 1500km

Actually: the Oil change after 1500km is normal but got removed by the producers. But yes: IT IS highly recommended!

3:30 is the torque spec 25 Nm? Just asking cuz I never used a torque wrench before Edit Nvm I can also look up how to read a torque wrench

can you explain a little better the removal process for the acoustic cover and that other plastic cover? in addition, how about the torque spec on the oil filter assembly and the recommended oil volume? Also, what is necessary to do the reset, is a special computer necessary?
