I want to do this job myself but I don’t have the app to push the piston back. Is it absolutely necessary for the app ? Can I just push the piston back with the special tool you have ?
@FullBoltOnGarage2 жыл бұрын
Hey brother! The app is definitely required if not your rear emergency will lock in place unfortunately
@Ally.MacMillan9 ай бұрын
There are a couple of ways of doing it without the app or without ISTA, but not really recommended. You can remove the motors from the rear of the callipers and manually rewind the e brake with a torx bit, but you still have to push back the piston and you have to remember to wind the e brake back into position before attaching the motor again. Another way is to apply 12v power to the pins in the plug terminal which will rewind the e brakes, and again, do the opposite to reset them. Like I say, not really recommended especially if you aren't sure what you are doing. Best to get Bimmerlink or ISTA.
