You can also buy EBC Bluestuff. But If you drive hard or do some trackdays you need RP-X or RP-1 pads.

It’s recommended that you apply some grease on the part of brake pads that slides in the calipers to reduce squeaking and squealing

First thing I changed on my S4 was going to Red Stuff pads. I went from scrubbing with a brush and wheel cleaner every weekend to wiping them down with a MF cloth after washing.

Why does BMW, even in their M models, cheap out on the rear brake calipers. Those floating caliper in the rear should be a fixed 4 piston caliper.

Because there is no need for it front brakes are the most import but i get the point atleast put 2pot on them like a m240i f22 ore 340i f30 ore like the m2 comp upgraded brakes thats a 4pot fixed caliper

but it's just not really necessary, not much braking is done from the rear wheel. i notice my fronts wear out faster than my rears and i have 6 piston fronts and floating single piston rears.

Are we not supposed to use any brake lubricant on the pad to caliper contact surfaces?

Does the rear caliper piston turn as you compress?

How come you don't have to put the electronic parking brake in service mode? Is it because he removed it? Wouldn't you have to remove it anyways? Do you have to unwind the parking brake if you remove it? Can you just compress the pads with a tool and not have to wind the electronic parking brake? I'm scared of winding it as if I do it in the wrong direction, it could cause some serious damage.
