No it isn’t. Nothing is different with the oil service oil filter is still a 27mm and the drain plug is still a 17mm all in the same positions. No special tools required other than the 27mm oil filter socket.

I just picked up my 2023 M240i and have been looking to get the same downpipe. Since our ECU’s are locked and we are unable to tune for them, is it okay that we run the new downpipe without the tune?

You can run the downpipe but it will throw a EML.

I’d like to do that catless downpipe BUT the smell, check engine light, and lack of legality make it a non starter. My solution was to delete the muffler system, install full 3” straight axle back, and go with a high flow catted downpipe. Therefore you get zero or much less smell, no CEL and the more aggressive sound due to the muffler delete. Problem solved.

Not a bad idea, if you can deal with drone / a constantly loud exhaust. You would be better off going for a high flow catted downpipe, we also have these but have not listed on our store yet, drop us a message.
