Nice job. I did the exact same myself earlier this week. I split the packs into a 3S2P setup for my car, the "Red Arrow" BMW E36 318tds conversion by Damien Maguire. As an Irishman, no doubt you will know about this car! Packs are in the car, fully charged last night, took me a bit longer than I planned to secure them, was already getting dark so didn't make the test drive today. But will do tomorrow on our new bank holiday 😄

Ah, I wondered where that had gone. Hope the test drive went okay. I’d be interested to here how the batteries went in the different orientation. I may be changing mine to have some in parallel too.

What the spec on that pack? 12kw - is that split evenly between the modules and what is the total voltage and module voltages? cos that battery looks quite useful. Are you going to use the cooling system in your project?

It’s the 12KW pack. I can’t recall the exact specs but I think the max voltage is up around 400v and it is an even split between the 6 modules. So about 66/67v per module. I’m going to just try an aluminium sheet as a heat sink initially and see how that goes. If I do need to do cooling it will be something other than what came with the pack as the beetle doesn’t have any aircon to hook into.
