Looks like BMW and Mercedes designers have swapped places. Its hard to believe that the i7 is being quoted for back seat comfort and the EQS called for being a drivers car! That said, the i7 is a lot more car than its counterpart, looks stately, futuristic and a great back seat too - which for a well accomplished business man/woman would be the ideal daily run car. The EQS seems more like the CLS (derived from the E class rather than the S Class) and misses out a lot of creature comfort esp in the back. And if there is an electric maybach S then that is what the i7 should be compared with - it simply seems way above the EQS' league. But then what will Merc's answer be if the RR Spectre comes in..... Interesting times and interesting space.

Iam a big Mercedes fan I drive a Mercedes but to say the truth I have test driven both of them i7 is farrrr better in terms of looks driving quality tech range except performance only advantage added to Mercedes now is the performance.. i7 any day the best

Sorry but i diagree with your verdict, the i7 should be the winner. It has better back seat comfort and features (v important consideration) in this segment). Except for ride comfort and range, it has all the other points covered compared to eqs. If this was a i5 vs eqe comparo the easier manoeuvrability and faster pickup would be given more priority. But in this segment i believe the rear seat should be given top priority. But i hope bmw gives priority ang brings an i7 without the 32 inch screen and preferably local assembly for 1.7 lakhs.

I am just going to say it. Both cars need to be designed properly on the exterior. The interiors are undoubtedly good, but the exteriors are not in my opinion. Are they timeless designs? No. If you are paying that price, cool isn't enough, it should be timeless. And with time, both designs won't age well.

The Mercedes any day of the week by a long shot. The i7 is an absolutely ugly brick while the Mercedes is much sleeker and streamlined. And overall luxury is spectacular in the Mercedes. I really don't care how far you can recline in the rear seat or if there's a 31" display panel when I will never be sitting there. Coupled with the superior EQS performance and the Mercedes EQS is a no brainer.
